The bleak future of WoW. Seasonal event hell

So is there any reason this content has to be disposable? Is there any reason it couldn’t have been something that involved our characters that we already play? Couldn’t it have been anything other than season of discovery retail edition?

I try so hard to tell myself, “No, Blizzard doesn’t actually have paid actors on their forums. They wouldn’t go that far. They don’t actually pay people to sit on their forums all day and posts endlessly defending every horrendous decision they make and shouting down anyone who disagrees. No. There’s no way, you’re being crazy.”…

Then I see threads like this and read through them.

So are you actually suggesting that there are people who get on a post criticising a Blizzard decision and disagree with the topic, are paid to do it?

Thats a high degree of paranoia right there.

It’s also optional content using dev time. I’d rather they use those resources to make the next expansion bigger and better and more creative, than adding a couple inches to the treadmill by slapping a new coat of paint on old world events.

It could be argued that every bit of content in a game is optional.

If it happens to be fun (which is what a game is all about, really) then what exactly is the issue?

You know games have many, many teams developing it right? This stuff wouldn’t take away from the same monotonous grinds that you so lovingly enjoy.

Isn’t all content disposable? You do it once, you rarely go back if ever.

Why not use it as a chance to try something new? I get that people are attached to their characters, but trying something new and going back to your beloved toons afterwards might open up a new appreciation for them, or better yet you find something that you enjoy even more.

Post shadowlands people seems to be fixated on being negative and ignoring all of the positive changes that has been made ingame.

10.2.7 is doing many more positive things.

That the the new mini patch system is boring and uninspired, and I’ve done them all and seen attendance dwindle more quickly each. Feel free to scroll up to my other posts, as I’ve stated my issue previously.

You’re making the mistake of thinking fated is for Mythic raiders. I’m willing to bet a great many non-mythic raiders like fated more than droughts.

Ilvl go up is what holds interest.

It’s the same people. Every day. Every thread. Saying the same things. Dozens of posts per day. Never any actual arguments or discussion, just passive aggressive remarks about how if you don’t like it then just don’t do it, it’s fun so who cares, you people whine about everything, etc. etc. It’s actually worse if they’re NOT being paid for it.

I know for a fact it’s not. My beef is that Blizzard is so eager to trample all over Mythic raiders.

You are probably going to be disappointed, because I sincerely doubt anyone is being paid to do anything around here. Welcome to “worse” territory.

Season 4 of dragonflight is looking far more casual friendly than say any other seasons combined due to the revamp / changes that is being made fundamentally.

to you. Its boring and uninspired to you.

Thats a tad hyperbolic, don’t you think? Some, sure, will say silly things (on both sides of a point) but disagreeing with something is the core of discussion. Do you expect everyone to agree with every topic raised? Do you believe that everyone who disagrees is being ‘passive/aggressive’?

Ignore those whose responses are openly insulting, respond as you wish to, and let others do the same freely. Thats a cornerstone of free speech.

If I have $10 to spend…I don’t have $15 to spend. Allocation of resources does not work that way.

What is your horse in this race? Do you think these have gotten better, that Big Dig > Superbloom > Emerald Frenzy > Researchers > Time Rifts, or are they just stagnant and lack creativity?

Yeah…kind of the point of an open forum, to discuss opinions, and as I’ve stated I have participated in these and seen attendance seem to dwindle mo quickly with each iteration, so maybe I’m not alone.

There is a difference between having the choice to go back and do old content and only having a certain amount of time to. There is a difference between permanent additions to the game and temporary ones. It’s the difference between a mmorpg and a live service game that WoW is slowly being turned into.

I’m not a fan of this new trend. Plunderstorm feels kind of like WoW’s version of a battlepass, and this new Pandaria thing does too.

I’d rather content be added to the game that stays, that I can do when I can get around to it and approach at my own pace.

I’m getting too old for this fast paced fomo stuff.
