this one isn’t better with the nerf to loot drops , my dk hasn’t had one weapon drop other then what wq gives and what another player gave me , and yes duplicates all the time , its awful . With bfa at least you got gear from the dungeons , which is almost non existent now
The dude is actually a troll who got MVP’d.
Insane.
One less item is not “non-existent”
Starting today you even get 2 for not timing.
During BFA, the weekly chest was a boot factory.
This expansion, it’s been a fairer shake, though some characters can’t stop getting necklaces.
But so far, like… I’ve gotten weapons more than once, and trinkets too!
Mine was a bracer factory lol
Funny thing is this simple change would make a huge amount of the playerbase happy imho!
Oh sure, but sadly happiness is a sliding scale.
You give them that, then they start looking for even more.
Look at this vault for an absolutely crystal clear example of that.
Objectively better in all ways for pve-only players at least, and people still find ways to be upset.
General Discussion, summarized.
Its human nature, sadly.
People always want more and more in these times of no strife.
Its just disappointing that they want their in their gaming too.
Games, to me at least, are a place I can get fixes from things I am unable to accomplish IRL.
I WANT it to be challenging and long-term!
And way less drops throughout the week and no bonus rolls to pay for the great vault tax.
You could control the BFA Chest problem by minimizing what Mythics you ran to get a specific piece of gear from that mythic.
However if you ran all the mythics your odds became less probable of getting what you needed.
I am not familiar with the probabilities of items in SL yet.
Although I can’t imagine it’s much better due to the limited nature of it.
I still think the vanilla method of attaining gear was far easier and productive than not.
Eh, that’s a bit of a generalization… Complaints can often be easily turned into suggestions for improvement.
Is the vault better than the chest? Absolutely. Is it as good as it could be for an end-game progression system? No… No it isn’t.
but it does add to the total problem of loot drought. It is just another chance taken from everyone…arbitrarily.
The BFA chest was worse. I remember having 9 weeks where I didn’t get a single upgrade. In Shadowlands I’ve only had maybe 1 or 2 weeks where I got absolutely no upgrades at all. I’ve also been maximizing the option choices so I always get 3-4 226 items.
In case you’re wondering:
You can find the email for feedback on MVPs in the sticky above, but I’ll post it here too for you: Wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com And yes, you can definitely report green posts too. We have to follow the same code of conduct as all other players when posting too![]()
I can promise it was not “arbitrary.”
Was done on purpose, because they wanted loot to be more meaningful and be acquired slower.
It was important to do the latter, because once we have our toons fully geared, there are no additional ways to progress them thanks to the removal of Titanforging and AP.
I don’t think its a generalization at all.
I promise you, no matter how “good” they make it, some one will always still want more, and be trying to convince others that they shouldn’t be doing anything other than giving players more “good.”
Was done on purpose, because they wanted loot to be more meaningful and be acquired slower.
This was an arbitrary thing though. No one wanted to get 0 gear, which is something that happens today, by many people. Blizz, and Ion especially, does not think through all ramifications of their choices. They have an idea and are going to make everyone suffer through it.
Okay, if you think that there is nothing further to discuss. I promise you, they do not make arbitrary decisions.
If you think otherwise, no worries!
I think it just comes down to rng and perception, I never got anything really from the coin so I didn’t like the coin, but I have quite a lot of really good upgrades from the vault lol.
For sure. But I still think the function of bonus roll needs to be fulfilled in some way, or this will continue to be a problem.
On the perception side, this is my personal feeling. Back in BfA Nyalotha raid, I used to prepare 2 bonus rolls when we were progressing or re-clearing on the last three bosses, and I went into it with a certain level of excitement because I knew there was a fairly good chance I’d get what I want. Now I go into raid expecting no loot to drop at all, because that’s what happens most of the time.
