I think a common goal for people is to get their BiS gear from m+. With one chest this was improbable to happen. With 3 choices it’s much more likely to happen. But we’re still at the mercy of RNG which doesn’t feel good.
We do need a non-rng based or farmable rng system. Valor points is this farmable rng system but it only goes to 220.
Actually just had a look at his raiderIO and he has not done 11 keys (on that character at least) in any given week.
Don’t worry about it though.
I don’t believe him because everyone else is also doing this sort of thing.
Don’t take it personal haha
I understand that, and you need to understand that rewarding someone for capping their weekly activity isn’t giving too much. It’s rewarding them for capping.
and yet…you are here claiming the loot drought we find ourselves in, isn’t the case. A simple choice, that is better than your LOWEST geared item isn’t too powerful, especially as you get more powerful. That is also keeping in mind you had to do content of that level in the first place. This would solely benefit the classes that just use shields and off hands more than anything, as those have a lower pool of possibilities than others, as they dont have 9 versions like pants or trinkets, etc…
It let you get a chance from the pool in that dungeon, or that the boss dropped…not the entire m+ pool or raid pool…
Is it because you didn’t read it?
The game works in a way where you do not get the exact item you want weekly.
That’s the long and short of it really.
You feel otherwise?
I disagree actually. If it were up to me, there would be no “free” loot from content that already rewards loot.
I believe that does not help the playerbase long term, but Blizzard disagrees at least.
So would you call the raid finder weapon at the end of the covenant quest line an item acquired for no additional effort? Was zero effort expended to complete the quest line?
As I said, you’d have a point if the end of dungeon loot dropped 226, but it doesn’t. It drops 210. As such the vault is part of their progression. The “additional” effort is still there once you’re 210. You have to do a dungeon (or 4/10) at your level to continue your progression. That effort is still there. It isn’t free. It’s the final stage of M+ progression.
Personally, I think the GV is a huge step in the right direction. Vast improvement over the prior BfA chest and I actually like it quite a lot. I would like a bit more control (not a vendor…) of the loot that can show up in it though. Seeing as it is our ONLY version of progress without doing other forms of content. I’d like the ability to target specific dungeons with specific boxes. Or better yet, target specific bosses (though that may be too much control). Also if I’m being honest… 10 dungeons… is way too much. Really playing on peoples FOMO imo. I’d lower the final number to 6 or 7.
I just think you should hold your own comment to a better standard. Calling people lying without proof is not great, the least you can do is simply ignore the post.
If a lottery can have a winner, you bet somewhere on this planet someone has not gotten loot after running 11 keys.
I think it just comes down to rng and perception, I never got anything really from the coin so I didn’t like the coin, but I have quite a lot of really good upgrades from the vault lol.
Why are bringing that up in a discussion about the weekly vault though?
I would be fine with the reroll returning, but that has nothing to do with this conversation.
Eh I am not one for letting stuff like that slide.
Making an outlandish claim is on the person who made the claim to convince me.
I remain a skeptic by default, on just about everything of this sort.
It’s conditional programming not rng, it’s more like ‘if x then c’ rather than ‘if x roll c’. where x = your current gear set and c is select highest slot then roll c’
