I actually just played FF1 and FF6 pixel remasters a couple months ago. Those games still hold up.

Oh those were so good! I made the mistake of getting them on PS5. Playing them in moderation went right out the window given that they each had their own trophy list. Ended up binging through them.

No shot, its the best suikoden game.
FF6 (though I still think of it as 3) is probably my favorite in the series.
Now I just need Chrono Trigger Remaster.

I just beat the DQ2 hd remaster.
I have Suikoden 2 on a emulator and loved it. I never got around to finishing it though. I kept looking for a widescreen patch or code and then got interested in other games. As long as they didnât dumb down this re-release I will pick it up. A trend with many re-releases is that they nerf the difficulty thinking that it will pull in more players, which may or may not be true, but for those who like some challenge it turns it into a snooze fest and gets boring.
The first one is short but excellent all the way through.
Two other great JRPGs are Dragon Quest 8 [especially] and Dragon Quest 10.
Game fired up. Time to start building my army.

Also if you play and beat 1 first you can get the main character into Suikoden 2.

Itâs funny how much this reminds me of chrono trigger. Very much the same graphic style, animations. Even the music. The theme in the first town sounds so much like the millennial fair.

FFX is great though. Itâs the last FF I actually liked until the FF7 remakes. FF16 was pretty good too. I will always die on the hill that FF9 is criminally underrated
Didnât care for XII? I always enjoyed it. Thought the gambit system was pretty neat. Sure, it dumbed down combat considerably but it was fun finding ways to completely automate a difficult encounter. Felt like putting together a puzzle to me.
I agree about IX. Although VIII is my personal favorite and I am very partial to V, IX will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the last FF game that actually felt like a FF to me. Not sure how to even describe that. X was amazing and I enjoyed X-2 as well, the XIII trilogy grew on me to a small extent but nothing beyond IX hit in quite the same way.
