I do remember the old Barrens chat. And I greatly miss the trolling about the “stolen silver” and “Mankriks wife” Among all the other nonsense that happened back then. I am not sure what to expect with things now.
Hopefully they will allow people to link spells followed by a certain rear entrance romantic act.
When Bruce banner gets angry he turns into the hulk. When the hulk gets angry he turns into chuck norris.
Can’t wait to troll barrens chat.
I will make sure it does.
well, with leveling being at a slower pace and the horde having a reason to stay in the barrens longer, yes i think that it will, the main reason why it left in the first place was because of the heightened speed + increased pointlessness of leveling as well as the division of the barrens into 2 i believe
This is the best answer I have ever seen on this topic. Of course we have to remember where blizzard is headquartered.
People will likely get muted and banned for things that were common back in the day. I expect tons of trolling, memes and jokes the first weeks then slowly die off due to reporting.
bruh, barrens chat is still in full swing. Barrens chat is literally the only thing that made it through all of wow.
right?
these days youre not even allowed to say n word without getting a real ban, so much for mature language filter on or off, whats the point? should just ban everyone for swearing.
not saying that swearing is a positive thing but so what if some guy says something, what happened to freedom of speech.
Marketing/corporate took over games and want to promote an image/agenda which is always leftist no matter what.
Look people spamming racist stuff and the N word in public chat is a bad image and you don’t have to be some suit from california to care. But the extent to which companies like blizzard go to make sure their games are as PC and leftwing as possible in image/presentation is grating.
OW specifically the Esports scene has been hit really hard.
You cant win tho, like i said just find a guild of people you will get a long with and do most of your social stuff in discord with them. Maybe sh*talk and banter push the limit a little bit in game here and there, but its ultimately not worth getting banned for calling someone a “fag” that keeps ganking you in STV or whatever.
I just think its funny and pathetic at the same time when they offer mature language filter but then when my un censored word is seen, but someone who chose to view mature language, I am reprimanded.
There is a group of people who want to wake up and be offended each day, good luck in not getting reported by them for making a joke in chat in 2019. We have become a society of wimps that get hurt by words typed on a screen.
Y’all sound crazy.
Seriously dude…WTF!!
Seriously, the mental fortitude or ability to take insults or (the truth) is super low these days, good luck telling a fat person they are fat without them wanting to inflict physical violence.
but saying a skinny person is skinny (the truth) is not seen as something that warrants a reaction.
I hate when people bring politics into things but i also don’t like people being muted because other people don’t like what they have to say. Let people speak how the please and get the stick outta your bum. If you don’t like it then just ignore it. Don’t cry to big daddy blizz about it like an 8 year old child whose still on his mamas teet. Bunch of Robin Arryn’s gonna be running around classic.
I never found the private server Barrens chat to be anything close to what it use to be.
It was always fun to read and see people get PO’ed about something.
Oh, and I know where Mankriks wife is. She was with me last night.
Gate-keeping jokes…
That’s a new one.
There’s a time and place for everything. I’ve seen a total of 2 civil political conversations in wow the entire time I’ve played. Both were between two well informed individuals that actually had me fascinated by what they were saying.
The rest I’ve seen has been nothing but the most extreme hot button political topics possible.
Intent is a big part of it too. Do they intend to just bring up an inflammatory political topic just to see everyone else’s reaction or are they legitimately having a civil discussion? Pretty big difference imo.
I’m almost considering rolling Horde just for Barrens Chat. I missed it back in the Vanilla/TBC/Wrath days. Rolled my first REAL horde toon in Cata…and by then Barrens chat just wasn’t the same (or at least wasn’t the same as I remember hearing back in the old days).
… your concern is that you can’t say racist slurs as much as you want? That’s a bold defense of overt racism that you just don’t see everyday. I hope this is a subtle level of sarcasm that I’m missing.
