No imagine how many ppl would be banned for saying half the sh*t that was commonplace in 2005.
The sad truth is most people learned it’s not worth it to communicate in open channels in online games and just talk in discord only. Risking a mute/ban because some triggered SJW sees you talking about trump or saying their are 2 genders isn’t worth it. And blizzard will cater to these people, just look at the lengths they went to scrub OWL chat.

If the stress test was any example it’ll just be filled with people saying twitch emotes like it’s real language and mostly people complaining about streamers.

No, because Blizzard has embraced a culture of fear and control. With as much time as you have to invest in an account/characters progression and development, you simply cannot afford to be an individual of any depth or personality.

That will depend on whether or not they have returned to the original chat channels or if all the city channels are merged the way they are now in retail. It will also depend in part on how closely monitored chat is and whether or not bans are handed out as Xenidel points out.
I’m sure there will be plenty of Chuck Norris jokes in store for you. Language in multiplayer games tend to be harsher these days than back then, but then again, Blizzard have always “moderated” their chats to some degree.
Biggest change will be Twitch emote spam.

Heck current trade chat in BFA is filled with politics and trolling. Barrens chat is guaranteed to be similar, if not worse. I, for one, will embrace barrens chat and read it for the chuckles.

Considering the conversations that Argent Dawn’s EU trade chat brings up on a daily basis, Barrens Chat is going to be very, very spicy.
It seems mostly that people who get offended duke it out in the chat, rather than to resort to reports and such. I could image NA is a bit different in that regard, but i could be completely wrong.

Political discussions have always been a part of world chats in mmos since i can remember in daoc before wow even came out.
Difference was no one gave a sh*t or was perpetually offended that some dumb bucktooth redneck voted for racist cheeto man.
Chuck norris jokes stopped being funny a long time ago and humor has evolved so much since then to be totally sarcastic, ironic and abstract which old people just dont understand.
Like a I can just say one thing “13%” and there will be a group of ppl who will smile at that or play off it in warcraft terms etc… jokes arent about punchlines anymore.
