I’m super curious as someone who only plays this game to arena or do battlegrounds, why does the average player refuse to participate in ranked pvp? Is it because it’s too stressful or boring? I read somewhere that maybe about 5% of WoW players ever step into an arena or BG.

Yeah, that. I don’t play WoW for its difficult content. I play it to hang out and chill with friends.

This isn’t news. We been knowing this. I know people who never even been in a random bg. I used to pvp back in the day but I mean…it’s just not fun getting one shot over and over after awhile you actually want to do something else. I played a random bg last month and I mean…we were 6v1 a horde dude and it did NOTHING to him. He just killed all us for 10 min. So…who wants to play that?

I would love to do rated bgs but I have to wait too much to get a group, get into coms (which I mostly do not like), etc. On the 1st loss everyone leaves the group… rinse and repeat.
Maybe solo-shuffle will do it for me

Not a fan of Arenas. Bgs are getting stale cause blizz hasnt added more. They should have added atleast three new BGs in BFA. The reward system has been the same for awhile now and needs an overhaul and new rewards.

I really love PvP. But, I do not like gearing up through PvE stuff to do PvP. I end up getting burnt out on PvE long before I feel competitive in PvP.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think Legion did it best when they had templates.

The PvP this expansion isn’t good. I don’t see anyone hyping it up. The popular players that used to stream PvP have quit playing after talking about how horrible WoW PvP is. Think people were actually saying ff14 PvP is better right now which is quite the statement

if pvp was jsut about fighting, not running around pillars to LoS stuff, vanishing and healing in furthest places etc, i’d be happy to try.
but as it is, there’s more running than fighting.

I am over 10 years behind on what other classes can do since I came back for SL. For example I didn’t know I can’t spell steal wings from a pally anymore. Nothing to do with ability just lack of experience and knowledge of the game now since it had been so long since I took arena seriously which was WotLK. I have been devoting time to studying when I can though.
Also finding partners who have potentially high ceiling skillwise in a similar situation like me are tough to come across. I had a undergeared rogue partner in 9.0 who hadn’t played forever same as me. He was glad in expansions before but he didn’t end up staying in the game and quit. We got to 1500 in a couple of days and that was it.
I don’t care about losing and not getting instant results so much as to improving day in and day out. It is a arduous task meeting teammates with a similar mindset.

I think a lot of people get some gear and do OK in open world content and dungeons and stuff and get a little full of themselves…so they go into a PvP environment with the mentality that they’re hot stuff cause they can solo some rare on Korthia or something like that, and then they find out that not only is it nothing like that, but they are not hot stuff at all, and it leaves a bad taste so many just don’t bother again.

Because I no longer have the time. I used to raid, and do dungeons, and do PVP, but I no longer have 8 hours a day to play the game, and the time I do have, I also spend on alts.
Maybe some day I’ll get back into PVP.

I’m just someone who likes to immerse myself in my characters and role play they are fighting the evils threatening Azeroth rather than spending my time battling ‘other champions’.

I would enjoy RBG’s but I can’t get into groups. I have low CR but 30ish% vers at 250 ilvl (from pve mostly) and I don’t suck. but instead people want alts with 2100 CR (and it seems like people boost anyways so is that a real number?

Rated PvP is stressful. Everyone takes it way too serious and they get so mad when they lose. Also, PvP in general needs to add more rewards if you lose. It really sucks to play some BG for a half hour or so, lose, and get nothing. Seems like a waste of time.

I’d rather play a game created with PVP in mind or strictly PVP such as Battlefield or a fighting game, not one that that keeps it as an after thought, isn’t fun, and tries to hard.
