The Ardenweald Dreamer - Ysera's Story in Shadowlands (Story Spoilers)

Maybe, what she did was using power that drained her or that after what she did with Ysera darker powers went to keep her from intervening some more.

I think we might be getting ahead of ourselves here. This thread seems to have a lot of conjecture based on background lore that is in itself rather open to conjecture.

No one’s ever really gone

It could’ve been a fault with randomly generated NPCs.

You can even talk to him and he tells about himself, you don’t do that with random NPC’s that have been generated incorrectly.

But of course, it’s an Alpha and a lot of things can still change, maybe the trolls will keep what was placed here before. Once again, the night elves don’t have it.

So are horde players now whining that some loa doesnt skip the arbiter jesus who even keeps score

This is partly because many Horde players…if Elune is the only true deity, feel disadvantaged that their “gods” cannot do this and are weaker than the gods of the Alliance.

And there troll players are represented more often because they also have the feeling that they are disadvantaged by the story and the story like the night elf com.

She’s not though. Nothing has ever said this. The closest thing has been “one of the few full deities” from the old website’s encyclopedia.

Did Genn break the Shadowlands machinery of death when he broke the lantern at Stormheim…?

I really doubt it but would lol heartily if that was the case.

Yeah. Ardenweald reveals that the drought happened after Ysera’s soul journeyed there, and we know Stormheim chronologically happens after Val’sharah. We also know that Sylvanas is to some level responsible for the machinery of death breaking. We know that breaking a powerful artifact of death tore open the veil with the LK’s helm, why not the Lantern too?

I seriously hope Ysera DOESNT return it would cheap out her dying.

Her death served no narrative purpose.

The 4D chess game continues. Sylvanas made a deal with Helya to get the lantern to get it broken to break death!

Eh, where is this stated?

That sounds like some blizzard writing

Helya’s lantern isn’t necessary for all of death to work. Helya is a fetus compared to Revendreth, and Revendreth is a baby compared to the Maw.

I have to agree here. Ysera got by far the weakest send off of any of the Aspects. Deathwing got an entire expansion for his, Malygos at least got an entire zone story and a raid, and Nozdormu has a weirdly fitting time travel based future evil self we end up needing to kill, but the current timeline version remains alive.

Ysera just kind of… Gets wholly corrupted out of nowhere with no real build up. Then we kill her with Tyrande in a zone finale quest.

I dunno. Maybe I have just become jaded because of all the beloved characters we watch go insane and have to be put down, but I found her fall pretty underwhelming.

Besides, this is Ysera. Even before Ardenweald existed a lot of us just kind of assumed her death was temporary given her connection to the Emerald Dream. Her being reborn in Ardenweald like a wild god is perfectly fitting.

… Plus it’d be really cool if she was reborn as a dragon wild god. I’ve always wanted one of those in the lore.

The fact that Ysera went straight to Ardenweald after death shows that Dream of Ysera is not Ysera despite Xavius’s assumptions.

This Dream someone had of Ysera aided the Players against Xavius, had the ability to create an Emerald Dream within the Emerald Dream and pointed out the Remnant of the Void…

Whoever dreamed up Ysera was very helpful. As Dreams of existing entities can come to reality as shown with the Sylverian Dreamer(which was a dream of the Sylvari’s Feathered Dragons) one would think that it’s possible for someone to bring the Dream of Ysera to reality.

A Dream of Ysera could easily be an Aspect of Dreams wielding Emerald Dream Energies while the real Ysera can easily be the Wild God of Dragons wielding Celestial Death Energies!

Imagine the expression on Ysera’s face if someone who dreamed of her brought his dream into reality and she came face to face with her copy who is a master of Green Dream Energies just as Ysera wields Ardenweald’s Blue Celestial Energies!

Plus nothing that happened afterward necessitated Ysera being dead. Her spirit helped us in the Xavius fight, but the living one could have done that too. And nothing about the green dragons’ quests in BfA would have changed if it were Ysera instead of Merithra.

It was completely pointless.
