The Amani are NOT the good guys

Varodoc just wants excuses, no matter what, he will find some way to justify continuing being a bastard

True. I had no reason to want to visit Teldrassil at all, let alone burn it.

Itā€™s wrong to not want to care about genocide.

Crazy how people can use this logic irl but not in a videogame.

Oh but when it comes to the High Elves-Amani storyline then suddenly itā€™s the Americas all over again.

IRL, is well, IRL (not contained to a game that can be turned off) and the other is a video game; something that can be turned off. This should not need to be explained.

Iā€™m not particularly passionate about the high elf / Amani debate. I just think itā€™s weird how the helves are put on a pedestal so often about it.

Just about every race has gone through a genocide. Yeah, it sucks that the nelves were the first to go through an on-screen one and I see how itā€™s an attack on their immersion, but I donā€™t play alliance, so itā€™s only natural that Iā€™d be more concerned about my own gameplay experience and ruined immersion than self-flagellating over someone elseā€™s. I did enough of that back when it happened, during a miserable period of my life.

I just want something to look forward to in the game and to stop seeing reminders of what happened.

Fanfiction.

Only three conflicts are explicitly referred to as ā€œgenocideā€ in the lore: the Draenei, Theramore, and Teldrassil.

Well get used to it, because Blizzard inserted a ā€œburning treeā€ callback even in that 5 seconds cameo Sylvanas had last week.

The solution is to give Horde races Focus not to turn an alliance race neutral.

You are so weird and I donā€™t get it.

Fanfiction. Theramore has never been explicitly referred to as a genocide.

Horde players: Blizzard give more focus to the Horde!!

Blizzard: Makes BfA all about the Hordeā€™s inner conflict

Horde players: Wait no not like that!!!

Personally my favorite injustice is the Defias. Because the message is basically

ā€œRemember kids, employees protesting about wage theft are just crazy terrorists who should be violently crushedā€

Would of put a tear in ole Henry Fordā€™s eye.

Alliance players: Give us a resolution to what happened with Teldrassil, Blizzard! Give us something major and on-screen and really relevant!

Blizzard: Does just that with Guardians of the Dream.

Alliance players: Wait no not like that!!!

Tbf, Many liked guardians of the dream, myself included.

I remember more then a few people being annoyed that the tree wasnā€™t in Kalimdor, and that the Horde had to help with it, because god forbid the Horde get a heroic moment.

No seriously, Varodoc, whatā€™s your glitch here because as far as I can tell, youā€™ve only been posting for about 3 months, already have almost 1,600 posts and I canā€™t recall ever seeing a single one where you arenā€™t posting in bad faith.

Even that wouldnā€™t be so bad if you were at least trying to be funny about it, because thatā€™d still be constructive in its own way. But all you ever seem to want is to put other people down. You make an average of nearly 18 posts a day, if the search function is reliable about you having only joined the forum in early May. So whatā€™s your goal here?

I think there is a legit criticism in the new home not being in Kalimdor, but some did blow out of proportion claiming night elves were leaving kalimdor to the horde and so on.

Like i said, players arenā€™t a monolith, we can find annoying players on all sides.

Itā€™s kind of a catch 22.

Because the Forsaken got Lordaeron back but the actual zone is borderline unusable. Thereā€™s no auction house or inn and even just wanting to RP there requires coordinated effort because of all the phasing.

So getting a shiny new zone with updated graphics kind of seems like the better deal. But I get why itā€™s location is annoying.

Except they did much more than just ā€œprotestā€, since they killed Queen Tiffin Wrynn and then began a campaign of terror against innocent farmers in Westfall.

Oh, and they were building a massive flagship with which to destroy Stormwind.

At that point, it IS terrorism.

Yeah and thatā€™s the problem.

WoW has no shortage of one dimensional bad guys. So it feels really lazy when they take groups that have completely legitimate greviances and make them absolute psychos.

The Defias and Amani shouldā€™ve been morally gray groups where weā€™re arguably the villain in the story.
