Magical WMD are not self defense.
Uh, that was at the height of the troll wars, so it was after 2 Amani attempts at genocide.
It also wasnât genocide. Killing enemy soldiers actively sieging a city is self defense and not even remotely close to genocide.
so you admit the alliance is nothing without their magical mcguffins because they never tried to fight fair?
Trolls have mages too. Just because they suck at it doesnât mean itâs not fair.
Zandalari had mages due to Mogu alliance. The other tribes didnât. Author bias is real and it is alwas for humans and elves.
Letâs be fair.
It was messy.
The former highborne had nowhere to go, as they were exiled from kalimdor, they found a place, settled, but former owners got pissed and tried to attack them. High elves were the winner, no one is exactly right or wrong, both were fighting for their place in the world.
The Revantusk tribe are Horde loyalists and the other tribes hate the Alliance. So when we get playable Forest Trolls, they will be a Horde playable race.
Earthen being neutral, doesnât mean every future playable race will be.
Something that occurred to me a little bit ago; I know people like to frame the Quelâdorei as vicious colonialists but⌠they couldnât be. There was no Kaldorei empire then, nor had there been for thousands of years. They were just exiles, banished on pain of death into the east for their beliefs and a refusal to abandon their traditions.
The world is large, there were literally still a living highborne city in Northrend at this point in time, not to mention they had previously ventured through other lands before settling Quelâthalas, they rejected Lordaeron because it didnât fit their wants, even if the locals were friendly to them. Not to mention the literal hundreds of years the journey took before then, they must have explored other areas as well and rejected them.
So they clearly could have settled in other areas, but it would not have had what they wanted, which is a good place with leylines to create a new well. Itâs all clearly fueled by their original discontent under the new night elves which resulted in the magic storm, which reason for was that they deemed arcane to be their birthright and the lesser castes had no mandate to dictate how they could use it, not to mention that arcane would be needed to create a new empire. The promise of a new highborne empire even greater than Azsharas is also what they vowed when they got banished.
Itâs an idea fueled by arrogance and greed, this idea resulted in their banishment, made them overlook other land, and made them steal and displace Amani land.

By real modern standards the High elves certainly was in the wrong.
Colonialism does not require an empire and thereâs several different kinds of it, in this particular case it would be settler colonialism. Where settlers arrive and displace the original population and create their own society there.
Not to mention that the issue that the highborne that did go to found Quelâthalas were part of the society, some personally even that already colonized large amounts of troll lands during Azsharaâs reign. And in this specific instance their goal for not wanting to give up magic in night elf society was to create a new elven empire and that they saw magic as their birthright. Source for this is the same as the ones further up in this post.
They rejected it because the void stuff under Tirisfal was driving the elves mad. They had to leave.
Tirisfal was also Amani land. So if they settled there the same argument would be had anyway.
Huh, thatâs weird, I could have sworn real life modern standards was against attacking refugees because of their race.
They were also the same Highbourne that would later rebel against the ones truly responsible for that. If you want Highbourne that are to actually blame for the WotA, look no further than the Naga (Azshara) or Satyrs.
Heartbreaking, the worst person you know just made a great point.
Only because Medivh had to come and slap everyone around. The Night Elves were hostile to the Orcs and the Alliance survivors until that moment. Following the battle for mount hyjal, everyone was more open to dialogue⌠because they had just fought off the end of the world together.
i havenât entered this thread since nov '22.
why is it still alive
Because necromancers like Doness never seem to go away.
Like the fleas in Crash Bandicoots fur, they keep coming back.
report necromancy.
You donât deserve playable dwarves.
Bro is acting like playable dwarves is a reward for being good this year
Horde players for 20 years:
Alliance is a joke! They keep focusing on boring humans instead of on cool races like dwarves! Iâd only play Alliance if Blizzard stopped overfocusing on humans and started giving some lore to cool dwarves and cool Ironforge!!
Also Horde players:
Waaaa, waaaa, me no like dwarves!! I donât want to play dwarves aaaaa!!!
I have never in my life, seen a horde player complain about which alliance race is in the spotlight, iâv seen them complain that the alliance itself is, but never have i seen one care which one hogs the alliance spotlight
Too bad, I have.
I have seen plenty of Horde players complain that the Alliance is too boring for them because âIt always focuses on humansâ, and they are nostalgic for Vanilla when dwarves and Ironforge were the âmain raceâ.
So go play your dwarf and make your transmog ready for Neutral Forest Trolls, because theyâre coming, and they will take the world by storm.
i genuinly couldnât care less what you have seen
