The Altar of Decay Sucks

Clearing to the table was much easier than this, because you could skip side bosses.

You don’t know how M0 works if this is what you think.

The solution to this isn’t “ruin the specialisation system” but rather “put the alter of decay in the non-instanced form of Brackenhide”

Be reasonable rather than more of this “Let’s ruin having meaningful professions”-stuff

This so very very much!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

My main is Alchemy and I only play for professions!!

I know how this sounds and you all have heard it a million times before and I Reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy don’t want to quit, but I can’t play this game if I have to combine dungeons with professions. It’s a complete deal breaker.

I don’t mind too much having to go into a dungeon once for a professions quest, but not over and over in order to advance the profession.

This is not good :frowning:

Yeah I just learned about the decay thing for alchemy today. Bummed me out big time.

Ugg…well, lets hope Blizzard listens to the complaints. Yeah, I know, good luck with that. :frowning:

For some reason, I think they’ll fix this sooner than later. They have to understand a lot of people play professions to avoid the dungeon crawl and dealing with this community.

Haha nice try Ion, I’m not falling for “MeAnInGfuL ChO1c3!” buzzword this time, that’s last year’s dumb trick. Toss it in the pile with “Muh immershun” and “Morally Grey”

Nobody remembers the alchemy lab inside Blackwing Lair?
That was a fun place to make flasks.

The altar of decay should have been in a really cool spooky cave. I always thought it was a waste that the little Thornspeaker nook in Drustvar was only used for a quest NPC. Something like that would have been perfect considering the Drust and their connection to decay :dracthyr_nod:

As a casual, is it too much to ask you to Que for an instance?

what’s so bad about doing a normal dungeon? if anything, it should be outside of the dungeon like the earth ward’s forge is for blacksmiths

How is this a ‘buzzword’ when this has been something people have been requesting since (at least) the end of BFA?
Professions having knowledge means that you can make a specific individual choice that defines your character and creates an identity for and around them in terms of what they focus in on being good at, and its done without doing what they did in Shadowlands by tying player power to it

So… professions in their specializations are defined by personal choices that have a meaningful impact on your character without affecting your player power

That’s a “meaningful choice”, and one that folks have been asking for; you choose your profession, you choose your specialization, and it has no impact on your own player power since at the end of the day, you want/need any crafted gear, you either make it or you commission a crafter to do it for you

Because most of the added depth of crafting becomes completely pointless if you can respec every time you want to craft something different.

Crafting isn’t a casual activity, accept that and move on.

Wait. Seriously? I thought they abandoned this kind of stupid design back in TBC? I can’t believe they brought it back. SMH. Glad I don’t have any leatherworking toons.

If your LW toon is a dps only class, prepare to be stuck waiting 45min for a q pop.

The boss literally needs to die to make it usable? Yeah that’s pretty dumb. Too bad you can’t just stealth to it, that would make it somewhat better, but just barely.

Classic was a success and people wanted classic in their retail, so they gave you dark iron back

The recipes in question only come from the dungeon. And none of them are things you’d craft on a regular basis, it’s the sort of thing you’d go and do maybe one time.

The only one you might craft repeatedly, is an item that requires tens of thousands of gold to craft. Something a true casual won’t have.

Tell me without telling me you haven’t looked at the items that require this.

And half of the consumables from Alchemy.

All the stuff labelled “Toxic” requires crafting at the Altar Of Decay.
