Okay, so here’s what you do. Go to the various zones that have WQ pet battles awarding coins.
You can use teams of level 1 pets for those, and it’s fine. They scale.
Get yourself 35 pet coins as rewards from the battles. The rewards vary, but you’re generally looking at between 15 - 20 per WQ battle. If you would like advice, please ask, and I will happily assist you with winning those.
Once you have 35 pet coins, you can trade them for an Ultimate stone. We call them “purple stones.” This will raise any pet from 1-25 instantly.
For 15 pet coins, you can purchase Marked stones. These will raise any pet quality to Rare. If any of the pets you want to use in the battle are not already rare/blue quality, you can use one of these to raise them to Rare. These blue stones are also commonly available as rewards from WQ pet battles, so if you see one, go and get one for free, saving the coins you earn for buying the purple stones.
Between BfA, Shadowlands, Dragonflight, and TWW zones, you should be able to get more than 100 pet coins in one day, easily. This is the fastest way to get it done for people who are just starting/haven’t done any pet battling in WoW.
I am happy to help. If you were Alliance, I would group with you and loan you the gold to get the chicken.
You don’t have to pay a million gold. You just have to have it on your character. Since you’re Horde, and since you don’t need Francois, I will recommend getting the Wicker Pup, Taptaf, and Terky. Those three pets all count for the quest, and all three are very, very easy to obtain. You might do better with a Spyragos and a Nelthara. If you have ever leveled an Evoker to level 70+, you can spec it for Augment and do a short quest to get Nelthara.
