An event is just an event. A psychological phenomenon caused by an event is not the event itself.

Not all players will feel that way. Some will, some won’t. So we cannot say that the event itself is a psychological phenomenon. Just that some are going to feel that sense of “FOMO.” Which I understand, because I got a small taste of it during the current event.

For the 10.2.6 patch for Dragonflight, we created what we think is a unique event inspired by past musings from the community. We can say that it is open to anyone with a WoW subscription if they want to participate (Classic or Dragonflight players).

Yep. I guess my brain just makes them one in the same because they are so intrinsically tied together. So while I might refer to the event as FOMO, in my head I’m also talking about the mental aspect.

Which is understandable. Because for some people, those events are going to cause FOMO for every single one. Because that’s just how things are for some people.

I don’t get that all the time, just sometimes. Some people feel that all the time.
