I don’t get how they can cater to their esports numbers and still say things like this. like they realize how tight those races are, a single buff is like a 5-10 minute lead in some cases
And most players should indeed git gud.
Most of the time it very much is a skill issue though.
Yeah, really.
My opinion is that stoopz is right on.
WoW is an alt driven game for many players or players want to experiment with different specs. Skill can’t overcome large ilevel gaps and also makes gearing from previous tier instantly worthless.
esports in an rpg
still omega lul and will always be omega lul until their casual base bleeds, and people realize this garbage will never be balanced for it.
PvP ladder’s already taken the hit. Wonder how long it’ll take for M+?
That is true.
If they really are serious about esports they need to actually balance the game better and reduce ilevel gear gaps per “season” and during a “season”.
Its also called deflection.
At a D&D table most would’ve already flipped the table and walked on these idiots.
Well if you really want an excuse sure.
Everyone complained about the PvP-scaling in BFA making gear useless (and actually sockets made you even weaker), but now complain that gear matters more in PvP. You literally can’t make everyone happy.
The stat difference between 210 and 226 is only about 8-10% hp/dmg which isn’t that major. Gear can only carry you so much if the other team has better coordination (and or is a counter comp).
It’s a bigger gap if you say go from 158 to 226 which is almost 30%, but everyone almost by default starts at at least iLvl 200 now on alts. To unlock 213 upgrades is to hit 1800 which anyone should be able to hit with their eyes closed.
Gearing is a short term problem because once you get over the initial hurdle you’ll be sitting at max iLvl longer than you’ve been not at max iLvl.
Seems like a matchmaking issue too, but IDK because this exact issue is why I don’t PVP in MMOs. The fundamental design concepts are too contradictory. MMOs have a heavy element of long-term power progression and PVP demands a level playing field at the start of each match if it’s going to be anything other than garbage.
perma ban the booster , if someon boost for moneys or gold , perma ban them ! if someon do a ad for a boost , perma ban them !
Pvp requires skill… after you grind your gear against 226 folks… sure.
Lol a guy who raids with us brought his 190 mage and pulled 4.5k on denathrius. While our old mage did like 3k
Skill is waaaayy more important than gear
OK, I seen this, so I had to go watch.
I give Ion a +1 for now giving some wussy PC answer. First time in a long time. Even if he’s wrong, I don’t care.
The guy who has 780 IO score is telling other people to git gud oh nonono
No excuses. Playing at a difference of even 5 ilvl is noticeable.
- 1800 is 220.
This. I also enjoy everyone saying “I’ll go play tbc/ wrath.” I guess we are pretending that tbc/ wrath didn’t have 20 ilvl gaps and rating locks.
I’m not sure what form of content he was referring to in this statement but yeah as far as PvE goes it is a skill issue.
Pvp on the other hand, being that it is a person versus person competitive game mode, it should have a level playing field in that regard.
It wouldn’t make sense to let someone who is Global Elite in counter strike start with an AR, because they are global elite, while the silver player has to start with a pistol. Makes no sense.
That’s another issue though. Don’t know why matchmaking isn’t set to where if you are a high tier player you can’t queue into low tier players period regardless of class or role.
