"That's really a skill issue."

Watcher just told players to “git gud.” :upside_down_face:

I disagree.

Game knowledge is important along with skill. But those factors can’t overcome gear ilevel gaps in some instances.

The chat for the interview has yet to stop laughing about it, and so have I. That’s just funny no matter how we look at it.

As a PvPer, I thought it was such an obscene statement.

Can I get some context please?

Preach asked about the significant power differences between a player in 215 gear and 226, given its only 11 item levels (for example).

I think that just reinforces the divide between PVE and PVP. In PVE you can learn mechanics but the boss HP doesn’t go up.

But in PVP if you can learn the mechanics the players HP can go up and that is a steeper learning curve. And sometimes it is a gear check to go up against a more geared player too.

PVE becomes harder by pushing higher difficulties but that is a choice. In PVP you don’t have that choice. In PVP it is sink or swim.

I get the feeling it’s a statement watcher is going to regret making… but don’t quote me. Also if it’s a matter of skill then it’s a matter of design. The design shouldn’t be such there is that level of variance. Easy to get into, hard to master has always been the name of the game.

This is a silly statement that says nothing about the current gearing problems in PvP.

He was right. The WoW player base is terribly unskilled. Just look at the whining and watering down of the game over the years.

He is right.

gearing issue is regarding fresh characters at ilevel 150 to 200 getting into pvp getting stomped by 226 ilevel players. That is a significant gap where skill cant overcome. Thats more of a barrier to entry issue. 210s to 220s gap is not that significant

Well most glads agree that gearing their alts is harder due to ilevel gaps.

So something has to change.

210s to 220s is significant lol.

not really.

ion has clearly never been 2-shotted by a Ret Pally or 1-shotted by a Sub Rogue, or died to a lucky Convoke in 1.5-2 seconds.

In PVE…what people don’t get is skill matters way more than ilvl. I did as much damage as a 223 DH when I was 216

Now that I’m 224 there is a sizable gap between us.

Same with me and a certain firemage they’re 218 mine is 201 and still only about 200 dps behind them in a live situation .

Your lego, and soulbinds which are easy to get provide a good chunk of your power too. Which everyone gets.
