That sad moment when

MMO Champion, Icy Veins and other fan websites are only updated daily because of wow classic, which happens to get way more attention from the devs and is updated significantly faster than the main game we pay for, which hasn´t gotten anything to talk about since “8.3 is 2020, sorry”.
THIS IS PATHETIC
Announcing in November that it and December won´t see a single content update for the main game cus of holidays (in which btw people want to be playing cus its their free time, you should know that cus its ur business) is just sad. You´re not a small indie company that can afford to not even talk about your main expansion after blizzcon and go into full on vacation mode and pretend that 2019 already ended.
Seriously, go into mmo champion and see how many of the last 30 posts were about wow classic. How many times it has either been updated or saw new things since we got 8.2.5.

There was a HUGE private server population of adults drawing unemployment that were happy to switch over to WoW classic when it came out. Probably more than is on retail right now.

Because Classic is a glorified remaster, not new content.

How is this difficult for you.

It’s also already all happened… so, isn’t it much easier to do updates/content?

For SURE more than are in retail right now. I am unsubbed since a day after 8.2.5 (since it had nearly zero content). Why am I going to pay for a sub if they are not delivering content till after the holidays? Once they deliver I´ll resub. You can bet there are tons more on the same boat.

What if I told you and hear me out here this is next level stuff here classic content was made 15 years ago ya woah I know.

And hear me out again they don’t share a dev team woah who woulda thought

In a year or two, Classic won’t have any updates unless they decide to go to BC servers. But then that isn’t Classic so what was the point of Classic servers? So eventually it’s going to stop updating, while Live still has a ways to go before it ever hits that point.

Besides, Classic is still new (old?) but its path is already laid out. The content doesn’t have to be remade, a lot of the assets still exist. No new encounters, no new models, no new zones, no new mounts, no new anything. It’s all the same old same old from 15 years ago. Updating that is easier than stuff that requires new effort.

8.2.5 had tons of content.

Now, it might not have been content you liked, but that doesn’t make it not content. Going by your achievements you barely touched Mechagon and Nazjatar.

It’s just a bit of longer downtime. 8.3 isn’t ready yet, it’s still being tested and I don’t think has hit release candidate status. Which is also a good thing as it gives them more time to iron it out. Shadowlands info will start coming out in force some time after 8.3.

Classic I think is about to release another update so it’s something to talk about. I agree the extra month kind of sucks, we’re all eager for new content by now. But we just have to wait it out.

What if I told you that neither of those things matter and I am judging Blizzard´s treatment of us as costumers since they made this huge video announcing 8.3, got everyone excited, went silent mode till blizzcon, dropped the expansion on us, and will be silent again till 2020, and this is utter crap?
Woah who woulda thought.

GD take on classic puts me to sleep. I guess someone still can’t get over that we have it :sunglasses:

retail stuff comes out in bursts always has always will they are not announcing stuff for classic everyday. Those sites realistically are building a classic database up thats why you see stuff everyday retail will get way more pouring in once alpha and beta start don’t worry.

You beat me to it. OP is comparing the speed of content release that already existed vs building content from scratch.

I would’ve thought the answer is common sense.

What is your point? That they get to be lazy now because they were lazy earlier and the patch isnt ready because they did not work hard enough before so they get 2 months of vacation? How does that even make sense in your head?

Let me try to pull that off at my work, see if it sticks.

Classic is still a thing? Huh.

Classic was fun, I hit 60 and got my free 120 boost and my character is just chilling and I can get on and fool around when I’m bored with retail. I enjoy it.

You do know a entirely different team works on classic? Christmas is almost here, let the devs take a break and reenergize. I know I am.

Is it also a slap in the face?
