Can I ask what Ilvl and class/spec you’re playing?
Sounds like they need to buff delves for mans then. Again.
Warlock, using pretty much exclusively Delve gear, with the occasional upgraded heroic/unupgraded mythic dungeon item.
I understand you have a pet that tanks, but I believe warlock only has an interupt while using the Fel Hunter pet, and the cooldown is also quite lengthy. How are you getting past the 1.5m+ dmg spellcasts from normal mobs while sacrificing your tank pet for the interupt pet?
Or Underlord Vik’tis in Dread Pit that casts “Stinging Swarm”, essentially draining your entire healthpool? Healthstones only get you so far and even the 30% hot attached to unending resolve can’t possibly be keeping you alive, and even if they were, the cooldowns are too long to compensate for the fact that he casts that like every 15-20 seconds.
I just beat the boss in the Dread Pit, first time beating him on t8. I’ve done it on t6 and maybe t7 before too I forget.
I just had my Voidwalker tank + Burning Rushed my way out of the frontal at times. ((Now that I think about it, I coulda just had a port down and teleported away- would have been better but ah well)) Staggered my defensives and uses drain life to make sure I had full life for every upcoming Stinging Swarm cast.
Some of my gear is enchanted, but not all of it.
I’m not a tryhard player by any means, I suck and average. This is the guy who used to think Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 stars was a hard game when he was 13 years old. If I can do this crap anybody can lol.
You can also use health pots in Delves, which I often do if I’m getting overwhelmed. Dark Pact + Undying Resolve + Health Pot + Healthstone + Drain Life saved me. I love delves on my Hellcaller Affliction Lock tbh.
For some bosses it’s better to have Brann be healer- for the earthcrawler boss I’d much rather have Brann be a healer. I died with him as a DPS but I switched him to healer and won the fight. For dread pit boss I like Brann as damage because I just want to kill him ASAP before he gets too many Stinging Swarm casts of. But healer might have been better just take a little longer idk.
I was honestly curious to see the response. In my case (and I may as well be a new player considering I just came back):
I use VW exclusively in the higher tiers (done through 8).
I Shadowfury/Mortal coil for interrupts if I can’t los. If there are multiple casters I may even fear one. Use Dark Pack liberally and Unending if I’m really concerned. I try to avoid HS unless I’m extremely low on health and have no other option. Admittedly I am awful about picking up the dwarven medicine.
The boss you cited you can outrange stinging swarm and my vw tanked him just fine. My biggest boss issues usually are ones that apply a dot brann can’t dispel. My other deaths are typically overpulling or getting aggro on a boss.
I have Dark Pact available for almost every pull, so that’s a large shield for the opening 20 seconds of the pull.
Brann’s HP pots actually do a lot of healing when stepped on, and if you can afford to space them out a bit they heal for even more (extending the HOT).
But I think the main reason why I’m having less trouble is that I just do damage. Casts aren’t that big of an issue if you can kill the caster before they cast too many times.
The real cheese was on Zekvir, where diabolist lets you use Demonic Circle to cleanse the DoT.
Try Zekvir
Killed him on ?, felt about as hard as Sigryn in the Mage Tower.
I just tried a 8 on my under geared druid got it done with 2 life left but wow it was a lot harder than my pally for sure. I went in as boomy died then swap to tank and still died. last boss I had to go resto, brann was doing like 90% of my damage, 100% helps to have a high lvl brann but yeah i can defiantly feel how harder it got.
So. I’ve just done T8 Dread Pit on my 585 Destlock. Zero deaths. Practically walked right through. Even the last boss couldn’t drop my VW below 50%-60%. Never healed my VW. Finished with a healthstone charge left over. Used 1 potion. No interupts outside of Mortal Coil. No enchants. No flasks. No food. No gems.
I honestly don’t know how to feel about this. Excited, because I finished on the warlock I’ve had since Cata, and could probably easily go do a T9 now. Also, enraged because I’ve spent hours this week straight struggling on my 593 Boomkin that I’ve had since vanilla, like I actually failed this one, and two others. There is…I don’t…I am so perplexed right now.
Omg thank you for trying it out. I thought I was losing my mind until I ran it on my under geared warlock and was like, yeeeeah, this is hittin’ different.
It’s actually easy on a hunter with a pet, try doing it on something like an evoker and your tune will change. You don’t have enough defensives, interrupts, or strong enough heals to keep yourself alive when there’s 2 web bolting spiders right beside each other or worse, 3, yes 3 in the same spot. And when one of them is a zek minion those web bolts aren’t doing 1 million, no no, that’d be too easy, they’re doing 1.5 million because of the 50% buff they get for some reason.
Yes, its insanely bricked rn.
I have no patience for them… they’re so boring, this game isn’t good enough graphically to pull off the concept IMO.
They ruined the regular loop of Normal Dungeons → Heroic Dungeons → Mythic 0 (and so on… come next tuesday)…
My experience in this expansion so far has been by far the worst WoW experience for me – and I’ve been playing since Vanilla.
Patiently waiting for my WoW token to sell (which is taking daaaaaays) so I can just buy my way to heroic. Delves were already boring, but they ruined them into the ground with that hotfix.
I would just like to say that I’m one of those types of players and absolutely can’t stand delves. You can’t pay me to grind this glitchy trash.
Perfectly willing to take the hit and lose my head start.
Sadly this is the case. Blizzard used to get memed on for catering to casuals and then ever since ~BFA or maybe even Legion they have been going super hard on catering to the top 10% of players and it’s hurting the game. I mean even just look at some of the mechanics in Mythic dungeons, they’re actual raid mechanics, ripped straight out of previous raids and put into 5 man dungeons because Blizzard wants things to be super hard for some reason.
They should have just nerfed the rewards instead of ruining the mode for the people who would enjoy them the most. Little brain devs.
Moonkin as a spec is kind of a disaster right now (at least until 11.0.5 comes in to put a slight damper on that dumpster fire of a spec).
Damage buffs coming next week should help, but that’s putting a bandaid on a gaping wound)
I knew going into the expansion that Wowhead had rated Balance as D Tier, and it didn’t bother me. Druid is my main, it’s always been my main, it’ll always be my main. Never really been an issue in the past because I am a truly casual player with the highest content I do being LFR and Heroic Dungeons. Now, I’m not sure how to feel. Still kinda processing I guess. Gonna be playing this warlock more though, that’s for sure.
I’m mostly thinking from a design area.
Druid class tree is a hot mess, Hero talents for balance both whiff (one is forgettable, the other actively makes the spec worse), Pulsar was removed and nothing was added to replace the depth pulsar provided, and the current version of the eclipse mechanic has gotten incredibly stale.
(I played moonkin as my M raid character for about 2/3 of BFA, SL, and DF combined)
