That’s not the game changing. Population declining or increasing is players impact on a game. Not even close to the same.
That’s like claiming that selling to a vendor instead of AHing everything changes the game.

Blizzard aren’t obligated to communicate anything really but this is the kind of thing that if they cared about or understood their community dynamics that they would be quicker to convey that this would happen before it actually happens. Instead they post about it after the change went live and the community is already complaining about it (in an number of cases rightfully so).

This patch includes client support for the Paid Character Transfer service, which may be enabled at a future date.
Is that a joke?? “May be enabled at a future date” enables it literally a week later with no formal notice
Also, “1 hour maintenance” 8 hours on the login screen- then it’s actually not 8 hours at all, but who could’ve known?
it’d be really cool if they’d actually announce the sh*t that they change or intend on changing, you know maybe with patch notes and a blue post? They’ve changed A TON of stuff in Classic already, and the only reason we know is because there’s a community that actively tries to figure out wtf blizzard is actually changing
Instead they LITERALLY just put “Bug fixes” at the end of the patch notes (or they just ninja patch stuff, which seems to be the norm)
“May be enabled” and “bug fixes”. Great communication Blizzard, really impressive, keep it up. I for one love being kept on my toes, and then going into raid and having Ragnaros behave fundamentally differently than he did the week before with no communication like last week
Realm transfers themselves isn’t a huge deal to me, it is the consistent pattern of no comms from Blizzard which is really slaughtering whatever customer relationships they had left
Holy cow, people really do complain just to complain. Let’s say they posted about it 2 hours ago, what difference would that have made?
Now were complaining about complaining.
