Thank You For Your Reports

Bull.

Take this as you will, but I’m calling this blue post update for what it is. It’s a PR move to try and calm down angry customers.

As a whole, unless massive amount of people and their botting accounts get banned in the next week – this company isn’t doing Jack to escalate anti cheat and fighting back against bots.

These posts mean nothing unless action is done, which I highly doubt anything is going to change.

How can one company just continue to make worse and worse decisions? “You think you do, but you don’t.”

All my bot reporting lead to this 30 lockout? Looks like I wasted my time.

And yet you punish a sizable portion the playerbase with a limit on instances that does not inhibit or discourage or solve the botting issue but does limit and hinder gameplay of thousands of legitimate players who farm/boost/get boosted/etc. Seems good.

This post right here. Lets have some accountability. We’re paying $15 a month to play a game that was made by a better company(pre-activision) a short lifetime ago and better run for free by Nostalrius.

If we report someone for botting, have a 100% in game or email response rate letting us know that the account was found to be botting or not, and if so, what action was taken.

The only flaw in this system is that it would require you to actually review the reports and action them, so I guess thats out. I mean even if you hired enough people to actually do this, activision would just have to fire them again after your next record profits quarter

Ok so how does this effect me a legit player that has 4 60’s and 1 on a separate account your telling me that i can do only 30 runs account wide?

Its against their policy to inform others of what action was or was not taken against another user from a report or ticket…been that way since vanilla…only way to track what happened is to add the person to a friends list and wait to either see the name disappear…or keep logging in…or in the case of name violations you will see them change to “PlayerT56TK4” If the complaint was about a scam or trade theft you might (big doubt here) find out when you get an in game mail with the recovered items. That and as far as investigating wither 1 of 3 things happenes… First only 1 poerson reports so its a lower threshold and goes to the back of the “que”. Second enough people report a playuer so they investigate…and find out that it is not a bot but a real life player that is half-baked farming stuff and not paying attention to others (I myself “zone out” and disable/hide chat for a bit while farming). And lastly they get enough complaints on a certain player…investigate and find it is a bot…and either try to find out how the person is botting (any tells about program and possible way to break it) or they get banned (either a temp or a perma ban) and they go to the next player. But how many hundreds (or thousands) of potential bots do they have to do this for? We have no way of knowing so we moan and gripe about the “lack” of anything being done, when again we have no way of knowing how many reports/investigators they have for this stuff. Just my 2 cents on this.

Or blizzard how about you do the damn work instead of making us do it. We are paying you, not the other way around.

Thank you Blizzard for once again screwing up WOW! You cant take the time to deal with the real problem of botting so you mess up everything for your real players trying to have fun and enjoy the game…You care not one thing about the players just do spend minimal time and effort to save you money.Well its really made alot of people mad and i would say some have or will quit playing the game…You put out there the raids and all the items needed for raids and so we farm stuff and yeah gold to but you make money cause of time in the game flight paths that take you long way around instead of just straight there and through the auction house hell even through the mail you charge to send. That makes us spend more time in game making gold. Repairs anything you charge us for we have to spend more time in game farming gold to pay for it…So you punish us the true players. I understand making money but if you screw over your players you will loose alot more then if you just did the right way…I hope you will retract to 30 instance a day thing because farming and stuff is part of wow we enjoy it and plus thats less time in game which is less gold spent which is people just not wanting to even log in…Forgive my rudeness but damn man lol

Thank you Blizzard for making my decision to unsubscribe that much easier

Sounds like we should stop reporting because the solution you guys come up with are worse then having to deal with bots.

im honestly bummed out. I have a toon on bigglesworth and recently i noticed theres a bot farming plague bloom every second of the day every day of the week with a clear script and route named “RaymondRich” i reported him multiple times, me and friends are 100% sure its a bott, and yet there is ZERO taken. its pointless to want to do these gathering professions and dungeon runs when a bot is doing it all day long on a script! Time and effort is an integral part of the reward system in this game and bots are making it so there is little to no reason to continue playing as it takes away the novelty of hard work and skill. Why should i try and out herb someone who has several bots in the zone all day and all night? it makes you feel alone in the world when half the players are bots and makes the work you do feel unrewarding because you KNOW someone else has a bot doing it for free while they sleep. I dont understand how people get banned in this game for using mods like boob sliders BUT having a script playing the game and grinding gold for you all day long is ok. Im new to wow and have been enjoying the game so much, but unfortunately im going to be done with it soon if this continues. Botting makes everyone elses time and effort that they sink into this game USELESS and non rewarding. Imagine farming weeks for the whelpling pets and just seeing a bot there all day long which you know, by probability, will eventually get at least one pet along with thousands of gold in flamesacs etc while you get carpel tunnel playing this grind of a game. Why farm elemental fire in Ungoro when theres a bot named Auberdine there all day long? It makes the player feel like they are wasting their time, life, and REAL LIFE MONEY to play this game when they could just buy a botting service. Blizzard has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING so don’t say thank you for reporting when we know that doesn’t do anything. Everyone in the zone reported the herb botters and no action. Its so so dissapointing how much this game let me down since ive started playing. I had to switch to horde JUST to be able to play the game because the server i was on was so imbalanced and now im just competing against a bunch of bots. pick your poison :stuck_out_tongue: but no, lets add a cap to dungeon resets…

Ridiculous Blizzard. This is a non-answer that doesn’t address the real issue. Ban the bots please and stop driving classic into the ground.

thanks for punishing the player base and doing nothing to help with botting. how about you guys start actually banning bots instead of this 30 instance garbage.

WTF is this 30 instance bull !@#$ ??? This does WAAAAAAAAAAAY more harm then good. Especially to people who are boosting others in low level dungeons / wanting to be boosted.

When I was leveling my alt in mid 30s it took us around 25 minutes to do around 15 or so lockouts within a few hours, maybe.

There is only ONE good thing I see POSSIBLY coming out of this - is seeing more people leveling in the world and less people boosting in dungeons - but the problem is - People probably WON’T go out in the world. They’ll get their 30 cap and then be done for the day.

Whenever I do the right click --> report --> cheating --> ‘BOTTING IN WINTERSPRING PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BOTS’ insert name date location time

LITERALLY nothing happens they are STILL THERE. It is a busted system and god forbid you try and fix it because look at this horrible instance change you’ve done.

GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR OWN GAME BLIZZARD.

Also while we’re at it just introduce the WoW Token to Classic and be done with these stupid changes.

Had a bot on Pagle farming RTV and Mountain Silversage 24/7 and it took 3 months for him to disappear. By this time they had brought out 4 more bots to scout the entire volcano to get all the nodes. It was the same scripted movements the second one popped up over and over again. Every person who farmed the area knew about the guy and helped to report him, but it was seen as a bad joke in the community because he was always there. Blizzard your efforts are not enough, it’s time to step it up!
