Thank You For Your Reports

I agree with this. Right-click reporting needs to be able to be used anywhere it should.

You’re welcome.

I have reported a character over 10 times and they are yet to be banned.

I am to believe that blizzard has investigated this character and believe them to be a legitimate person?

you just ban the chinese / rus rus botters? the report system is obviously broken and a joke. people abuse it all the time for malicious reasons, where as the one botter that gets a report or two while leveling or hiding in an instance just snakes by.

We have reported a flying botter who spamed ZG carry every single day, but nothing happen to him, he is still botting ZG with his “?” spam.

Just letting you know they released the post from being hidden. Seems it was reported for “Trolling”, haha.

Ya know, it’s not a bad thing if they take time to investigate. The reporting feature has been abused repeatedly in the past.

What if …What if we were rewarded with an item, gold , pet or something of value when and if the report feature actually stopped a bot, more players would spend the time hunting them maybe? or spending the time to actually report them. I would love the idea of a reward system to clean up the game .

Do you seriously expect us to believe that you dont’ have enough logging to see that 10 characters are doing the exact same thing with milliseconds between actions? That the SAME people/accounts pick x% of all black lotus spawns?
Or the EXACT SAME PEOPLE, make the EXACT SAME PATH, in the EXACT SAME ZONE, doing the EXACT SAME THING EVERYDAY?

Additionally, does no one in your organization have the knowledge to do ARIN lookups on IP ranges that are assigned to VPN companies and block them?

YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM is ONCE AGAIN you’re relying on the COMMUNITY to fix a problem you have EVERY POSSIBLE AVENUE in addressing yourself but WILL NOT ALLOCATE resources in doing so.

However, when you ban 1000 accounts, each paying a 15$ MRC, it hurts that bottom line doesn’t it??? $180,000 a year in MRC sound about right… just for 1000 accounts…
So is it really a lack of ability? Or a lack of will?

P.S - License a program called Splunk, apparently no one in your organization has heard of any INDUSTRY STANDARD TOOL THAT AMALGAMATES ALL SYSTEM LOGS…

HECK, I’ll help you do it PRO BONO if you give me access. I guarantee I’ll do a better, faster job identifying them.

Here is a little tidbit I KNOW YOU HAVE to use, map each players movements in each BL zone(and don’t act like this is system intensive, for 30 players in zoneall day long it would generate roughly 260k lines of information, which is chump change) . Plot each characters coords over time. If they line up exactly, BINGO, investigate THOSE accounts.

This 30 instance thing is nonsense and the ONLY thing it does to the botters is slow down the alt leveling.

DO.
BETTER.
This is inexcusable in 2020.

P.P.S - Another idea you can bounce around is making Black Lotus soulbound and placing a flask vendor in each city. Set the price you intended flasks to be.
Make it to where you can sell flasks to the vendor for the exact same amount, so it doesn’t impact alchemists looking to make money.
There is literally no valid argument against this logic, except from the botters who can’t sell gold RL, via Black Lotus manipulation in game.
I swear to god if you try to lean on the whole #nochanges thing, you’ve lost all common sense at this point. Classic IS NOT VANILLA. IT NEVER WILL BE…SALVAGE WHAT WE CAN AT THIS POINT.

Same. I see dozens every day in each zone. Some hunter bots I have reported since January and they are still killing countless mobs in obscure areas 24/7

Just cut our playtime in 1/4 and charge us the same!

China’s servers banned over 113,000 in one week alone. They lost 1,695,000 dollars that week. I imagine there are ten times that many bots in classic wow US servers seeing as I can find at least 100+ per day on my server even when I’m not actively looking for them. That’s just randomly farming things in the open world

Kaivax I am really holding back bad words. Im instance locked to ZF doing my mage gold farm, and while im here im watching bots pour into ZF still. Looks like this change just effects the player

Would you consider adding a notification when one of the accounts/characters we reported received some sort of action? I’m certain I’ve had something similar when reporting people on retail, and I think it would make people more likely to report if they receive some sort of feedback other than “Thank you for reporting”.

It’s really disheartening to report the same bots over and over and see them there day after day with nothing being done, and it makes the reporting feature feel like a waste of time.

Why should I do your job for you?

I continue to report when I see them. The part that makes it hard to keep reporting is we never receive any sort of follow up.

In Overwatch when you report someone. Often times I receive a notice when you first open Overwatch that acknowledges that you reported someone and when I get that notification I like to assume that means action was taken based off of my report and I assume multiple reports. Adding something like this to WoW would be great. It reinforces the fact that the reports are getting to someone and some action was taken. We don’t need to know if they got a chat ban, an account suspension or whatever the result is.

I myself have encountered this situation multiple times where I see a bot or most recently, a group of bots leveling in the open world. I report them and then as I come back through that zone leveling another alt weeks later those bots are still there running the exact same path. I do not expect instant gratification from a report but when you see the same people that are so clearly and obviously botting still there after weeks and multiple reports it is hard to want to continue reporting because it doesn’t appear there are any actions taken.

I don’t work in this industry and I don’t know Blizzard’s policy regarding how they detect a bot or make the determination it is a bot. I assume that it isn’t very difficult to detect.

I’ve said it before, multiple popular content creators have said the same and other MMOs have done this. There are many players who would be willing to help out for free to weed through these reports and assist the community managers to make a better game for everyone. The introduction of some sort of in game player mod would greatly help this in my opinion of course.

Thank you guys for all you’re doing.
