If you dont want to pay attention to te dialogue thats on you
Seems like being hired to direct a sequel to a film you didn’t make, and deciding to staple in flashbacks that completely upend the story beats of the previous movie.
And all in service to this aggressively forgettable Jailor character. Not to mention I’ve no earthly idea who was clamoring for Ranger General Sylvanas to make a come back. Fairly generic Legolas Elf Archer type #33219. More of an obstacle than an actual character in the narrative.
I know we don’t technically know with certainty that’s where this is going. Hell maybe the Jailor just blasted her with a really awful smelling fart and red eyes turn blue when wince crying. But I’ve no idea where else this could be going.
You can absolutely direct a sequel to a film that you didn’t direct. But it just requires you done undermine it.
Danuser should apply that a little more rigorously.
I remember a Blizzcon panel that had Blizz stating word of god that Sylvanas brought the Belves into the Horde becasue she still cared for her former people. And the opening racial scene stated the Forsaken were wrongly blamed for the Wrathgate. Then they rewrote her character to not caring for her people and the Wrathgate was her plan all along.
This new Sylvanas may be Blizz giving Sylvanas back to Sylvanas fans, as Blizz origionlly intended for Forsaken fans to have as a leader but becasue they had rewritten her, so drastically, this new Sylvanas is going to be a new Sylvanas that we’ll have to get to know. She may be what Sylvanas fans thought they had for the better part of the last decade, or she may be something else entirely. We’ll have to see what Blizz’ plans are.
Only applies to victims of Frostmourne. They nerfed the setting’s holy grail for Sylvanas’s trainwreck.
Sylvanas mimicking Canonball did it for me. Like when can banshee’s do that?
I mostly agree, this was really the crossroads for her development.
I think if they paint it as the Ranger General was always there but was overpowered by dark magic most of the time it would be fine. I think we have more than enough instances to references i.e. her wanting to reach out and touch Blightcaller, her wanting to be closer to family, her genuinely caring about certain characters etc etc.
The most ideal Sylvanas is what we have now without the Saturday morning cartoon twirling mustache. That would be a dream come true. As we know Sylvanas still had the determination, sass, skill, cunningness, grit, and tenacity while she was Ranger General.
Basically everything I like about her.
Whatever we were before Legion, we’re definitely wrong now. Danuser says so lol.
Not really, it seems like Kosak and his team always wanted her to be The Lich Queen, Danuser and his team still managed to pull that off but make her redeemable in the process.
Regardless, Sylvanas was always destined for this point in the story.
If the things we her fans liked about her were always there but suppressed from dark magic, we’d have to ask our selves what she actually gained by getting her other soul fragment back.
We’ll see what Blizz writes.
At this point what are you even cheering on at this point? This character’s already borked motivations just got turned upside down by the last minute (known as an a**pull) reveal that her soul was magically warped. Are you just happy to see more of her on screen? Is that all there is?
I’m sure if you knew me you wouldn’t have to ask that question : ) I’ve literally fantasized and dreamed of this day since vanilla and have not been shy about it at all.
I really wish blizzard didn’t dump their old forum’s URLs.
I’ve been talking about the curse of undeath/necromancy/soul manipulation forever.
