I think the talk about the current plan with addons is overall a great idea but what im most excited about is the reduced bloat of alot of classes/specs, OBR was a bandaid fix but i think this is prob one of the best changes I’ve seen in a long time.
Makes the game alot more approachable and we no longer need 3-4bars of abilities, i think at most classes should have 2 bars!
Anyways ik this is contrary to some posts but overall designing the game for the average player and bringing forth QoL changes to make the game less addon reliant is the best option for the health of the game.
I was originally gonna just try pvp in midnight and prob quit but this change might bring in alot more new faces and keep the game feeling fresh without all the additional clutter/bloat for me to keep track of so im actually looking more forward to midnight now
Ah im not a shareholder so idk, luckily this post doesnt involve anything regarding poor monetization strategies and etc so im not sure where you got that bootlicking remark from
Yep, theres some specs that dont need all the bloat to feel challenging and then theres simple ones with just too many buttons for me to really enjoy, i think reducing that aspect just feels better in everyway. OBR was like ok at best lol but this is like perfect for me
Druid personally feels super easy but like 3-4bars seems to be the absolute minimum you can go with, i just couldnt get into it
Hello , I am from the east coast too. I say this because back when wow had profilers, one of them taught me we type " alot’ as one word when it is actually 2 words " a lot", but I agree with you ,I think wow for console would be awesome too. I haven’t tried the combat assist thingabobby yet , I am hoping I can test it on one alt and not enable it for everybody.
I think the changes are going to allow more types of players to play wow better now,
I mean it sort of depends what they remove. It’s great to say “remove the bloat” etc. as a kind of abstract slogan, but when you discover that one or more things you enjoyed about a class/spec. are now on the chopping block it’s another thing altogether.
If blizzard can thread the needle of removing bloat while retaining & possibly enhancing class identity (notes say this is the goal at least) then I will be very satisfied and impressed.
I was looking over the Demo changes and I do like changes is saw but this is one of those “trust but verify” situations.
There’s been plenty of things that look good on a forum post that was just horrible in game. Perfect example for me is Phase Diving. It’s just a worse version of the Maw with extra steps and teleport pads.
I just hope they put some of the oomph & soul back into affliction. some of my favorite days in my 17 years playing this game were spent rotting entire teams in RBGs on my warlock with spread UA & snapshotting dark soul DoTs with soul swap. hopefully the damage is put back into corruption/wither, UA and agony instead of shard spenders. I saw that nightfall procs will basically turn into MR so maybe there’s a fun middle ground
It’s less about complexity and more about being terminally lazy, zoomer-brained, and too impatient to bother reading or learning.
At this point, it’s painfully obvious that a depressingly large chunk of the WoW player base are basically lobotomites, utterly incapable of processing even the simplest things.
Unfortunate that Blizzard has decided to cater to the lobotomites, but hey, I guess it makes sense when profit trumps standards.
You know MMORPG’s on the phone only have 4-5 buttons max and with questing that take you to the objective so you can watch youtube as you wait in between fights. They are also free, i’m pretty sure that people who want this kind of bloat prune would have a lot more positive experiences over there.
rn most classes have around 2 and a half bars if they are sacrificing utility/skills
ya i dont believe that hitting less abilities was those xpacs main problem lol
couldnt you just read your abilities still? i think shaving off bloat doesnt ALWAYS have to sacrifice complexity, granted i think complexity is subjective anyways and really holds 0 actual value. Calling ppl zoomer-brained and all those other insults you said because 24 buttons feels better than 36-48 is just baseless ad-hominem for actually no reason other than you being unnecessarily spiteful and bitter
nice bait, anyways hitting 24-30buttons is still outside the realm of mobile mmos, This change of shaving off bloat was probably one of the best and more approachable ones ive seen in awhile
also lets be real lol most of us are watching youtube on our 2nd monitor while playing WoW lol
