Thank you Blizzard for the conduit change

If your major complaint is towards people who want to make themselves better players, then you should reevaluate your argument because it is extremely flawed.

No, there’s nothing flawed with it at all. I’ve seen scrubs wipe out over the years with “leetsauce meta builds”, and watched those same players get eaten alive by players with “lazy troll builds”. Even I pushed ICC with my resto druid rocking a super high Spirit Healing Touch build. I didn’t use a single macro, addon, or keybind outside of the one-two-three. I did a lot of action bar clicking. We pushed plenty far. And again in Cata, when I rerolled Disc Priest. I refused to use the angel wings because I thought they were tacky and a waste of action bar. I used atonement before it was regarded meta. I was regarded a clutch player for my guild because of the formidable DPS I provided even as I clearly kept everyone alive.

So no, my argument isn’t “extremely flawed” just because you don’t like it. Go ahead and dissect it piece by piece, since it’s extremely flawed.

It’s not because I don’t like it, it’s because your argument rests entirely on hating people who try to make themselves better players. That’s all you have for an argument. There’s nothing to dissect there. It’s plain as day.

Yeah god forbid we play the game we pay for the way we want to.

Except I don’t hate players that try to better themselves. I simply hate the players who act like they’re gods when all they’ve done is click the highest dps setup, and then treat the rest of the playerbase like crap because they want to experiment.

Nobody’s doing that, except people like you and Ralph. You lot are ones hating an entire group of people just because you don’t like how they play.

And that is exactly the thing they are thankfully trying to stop.

So the main argument I see over and over against the current design is that if the player chooses a particular covenant for a specific type of content that they will no longer be able to be competitive if they decide to do other types of content and what I keep asking is if there is hard data to corroborate this or is it just speculation? Also, what is the gap? If the complaint is that your covenant of choice is 100% optimal for your content of choice and 90% optimal for the other types of content and can still be completed, it’s going to be hard to convince most people to care about this.

Have you seen their pitiful attempts at balancing stuff in this expansion? Azerite traits, Essences, and Corruptions have a massive gap between “best” and “worst” choices. Choosing all the “wrong” options can leave you doing less than 50% of the damage as someone doing all the “best” ones.

So we look at BfA and then we look at SL and we’re very concerned about them balancing Covenant abilities, Soulbinds, and Conduits.

Correct. I’m fully allowed to call out a player mindset that rewards players for treating each other like crap, that celebrates a zombie/sheep mindset and tears on anyone who does differently. Play meta if you want. Play to be the best you can be, meta or off meta, if you want. Just don’t be a **** towards others about it. I don’t know if that’s who you are. So far you’ve been respectful, so I’d like to assume it’s not you. But IF that is you, well, I can call you out just as readily as you can boot that scrub.

Nice strawman you’ve got there. It’d be a shame if anything happened to it.

:fire: :fire: :fire:

Strawman? I don’t recall forcing that upon you. I never said that was you or ANYONE else. I’m not forcing that claim upon anyone. It’s a blanket firing at anyone who DOES bear that mindset. So no, that’s not a strawman. Nice try though. Would you like to make an ad hominem attack on me while we’re at it? I’ve got my armory wide open for attack. Say I have no business talking about this game because XYZ? Go ahead, I ain’t shy.

That’s what makes it a strawman. You’re attacking people who haven’t actually said anything You’ve got this boogeyman in your head and you’re using that as your justification to attack anyone who dares look at the meta.

What are you even talking about? Drop your victim complex for one second and try to say something constructive instead of attacking people.

Im playing SAO Alicization Lycoris right now during this off season. I love that I have so many options to customize my character and use all the toys and skills in the game. I think Blizzard limiting players in using these things will lead to less fun gameplay overall. Sao feels refreshing because I can live out that power fantasy. I think its a shame I wont be able to do that in Shadowlands and will essentially need four characters if I want to follow each covenants story. Further limiting player choice is not the meaningful choice I look for in games. I prefer choosing what I like to play and how I like to play and having access to all content on one character with no compromises. I do not think you can deny locking covenants will limit the story experience of the players. In regards to conduits its just more limitations that harm the player experience.

I think you might have cherry-picked what I was going on about…

I am saying, yes, it is an RPG, but we should have similar performance with different load outs and play styles. Otherwise everyone will come back to where we are now… and when something isn’t fun… it stops being played.

I can understand being concerned because blizzard doesn’t have a great track record with this stuff but until we know more, all the: you WILL be declined from my group for picking the wrong covenant and similar type rhetoric isn’t really helpful to anyone.

A straw man is when you force a stance, position, or opinion, onto someone, who may or may not have that opinion. And THEN you tear into said argument as a means of putting them down.

I’m not saying you ever claimed to be fond of metas or what have you. I don’t know if you do or don’t. I’m ok if you never say.

I’m saying that the aforementioned attitude is that of an @$$wipe, and anyone who fits that, likely aren’t as great as they make themselves out to be. I don’t know if you fit that or not. I don’t care. Fit it. Or not.

If you decide to wear the strawman that I’m tearing into, that’s all on you. I’m still attacking an idea and not a defined person. F&@/ that strawman, and f&@/ anyone who genuinely fits in it.

I dont agree, if this is what is going live Im just not going to play anymore. Not that anyone cares (other than my friends) or im doing it to punish anyone. It just doesnt even sound fun. I have so much more I could be doing with my time than playing a game anyway.

Its helpful for Blizzard to try and understand it own playerbase and how they act. Players will reject players on their choices they always have, its just worse in todays version.

But there is also a portion of the playerbase who wont ever see this, cause they play with friends and guildies. The Pug world is horrible i just dont understand how people do it weekly.

Still this is going to make a grind trash for alts : /
