Why do you keep letting yourself get baited by that troll? Just put it on ignore and move on.
Boredom? Addiction? Not wanting to play Classic?
Mostly boredom yes
That last part.
And retail horde bias is not even due to faction change as a service.
New players will read go horde. as has been advised for years. as it can be better. IF only for pickups being better.
with the punchline in theory…alliance is better for raid/dungeon. DID, trash gnomes, even void elf for casters. and for years people have loved to bring up NE shadowmeld. These racials in theory tack on many +1’s.
But you want horde. for pick ups. I see that myself. Even LFR is less painful horde side. I might wait 25 minutes. But once in I got the full crew.
Alliance…I have waited 45 minutes. to get a pick up with no tanks. yay!..I am in the instance. and now waiting for tank pick ups. another 30 minutes. Alright…1 hour 15 minutes just to start this crap up.
I’ve had LFR horde days I’ve cleared 2 wings in the time it took to get in 1 alliance wing. Cleared wing 1…straight into 2.
It’s always funny that people call them things like this, not realizing their racials are pretty amazing.
Idk about faction imbalance stuff, but refusing to let people race change also hurts the casual people who wanted to change their main to the new races that come out. If someone raided in Classic as a Troll Rogue but wanted to be a Blood Elf eventually, they now have to decide if they want to abandon their main and re-level as a Blood Elf- when they could have just paid to race change in Wrath.
If you can’t juggle TWO specs on a character, then you probably wont be using Dual Spec anyways. People who wanted unrestricted dual-specs are already proficient at their class in multiple specs and wanted this make it more simple.
The in-game chats like LFG, where it’s flooded with Boost and GDKP spam? Maybe if it was 100% legit groups advertising I would agree.
I just disagree with this opinion. I believe that the “Community” just separated into different forms of communication. These days when it comes to retail - people use the in-game communities tool, guild chats and discord to socialize. With these various outlets, people are able to target a specific type of playerbase that appeals to their playstyle (Mount collectors, raiders, M+ players).
So the need to reach out in a simple dungeon group to socialize/fill out your friends list isn’t as crucial as it was 15+ years ago. The world got bigger and gave us more outlets to find the RIGHT kind of community.
Amazing the levels of denial that this forum has achieved, Its the toxic side of the pro lfd crowd blizzard is trying to protect other players from, The social contract was written with you guys in mind, The louder and more vitreous you get, the more you prove the removal necessary. Its not that its a bad idea in thoery but in reality it becomes a conduit of toxicity.
I mean, I agree.
So stop saying it (to go play classic/som, since we agree they are identical arguments).
Blizzard seems to think it is a valid argument though, since Ion himself recommended it for those who are unhappy with RDF removal.
Ion also flat out said that they nerfed Demonology by a huge % purely because they didn’t want anyone playing it until they finished gutting it in Legion.
Yeah I don’t purport to believing everything they say is the 100% right way to go.
However their word is still the verdict on how things will go.
You’re either OK with it or you aren’t, but what you’re talking about isn’t the same as them picking a direction on a divisive issue. Sure, it’s not the direction you’d like, but I certainly do like it.
Remember that one guy that got honor gains nerfed?
lol, no it doesn’t you sit in Dalaran and fish or tab out and watch YT. same as any of the queuing tools, it relieves you from actually having to participate socially in the game. it’s awful.
Hilarious that you’ve chosen to ignore the hundreds of one-off posts from normal players that’ve dropped in to voice unhappiness regarding the removal of RDF.
He has no proof, nor logic.
And how would that be ANY different than what we have in TBC Classic?
I’m sorry, what?
Umm, what do you mean by ‘vitreous?’ That word has no relation to any part of this conversation.
How does LFD ACTUALLY encourage toxicity, or provide players the opportunity to create a toxic environment?
You mean the ones from sock puppet characters that parrot the same talking points that have been disproven time and time again? Or the ones that only ever post on the forums to harass Blizzard and spew vitriol?
Yes, both I and Blizzard have chosen to ignore those posts, rightfully so.
Blizzard ignores all posts. How narcissistic can you be.
Not mine. Historically, Blizzard’s design choices and my feedback have consistently aligned.
Not to mention, Blizzard directly references some posts and even replies to them. Blizzard does not ignore all posts… they only ignore the non-constructive ones.
I can vouch for him, i’ve seen plenty of his opinions initially be hated but later turn out to be accurate.
