During the Queen boss, there’s the part where everyone gets a little white circle on them that will root them in place. My problem is that when I’m rooted, I have text to that effect right in the middle of my screen that obscures my character and I can’t target the root effect to help get out of it and I die. Moving my camera around doesn’t help. How can I move the text out of the way, or maybe get rid of it entirely?
Do you have DBM? I don’t have that (or any typical raiding add-ons) and don’t ever have an alert like that in the middle of my screen.

If it’s just on a boss then it sounds like it might be DBM. Could be scrolling combat text as well but the default scrolling text doesn’t clutter the screen to the point of being an impediment.
OP, do you have any addons that can cause text popups such as DBM or a combat text modifier?

DBM does have an alert for the roots (Silken Tomb). If you use DBM you can go into the addon and turn it off or change the bar position.
- Open DBM
- Click on the Raids tab at the top
- Click on the little red + sign next to The War Within to expand the group
- Click on the little red + sign next to Nerub-ar Palace to expand that group
- Click on Queen Ansurek to see her alert options on the right side of the panel
- Second option is Silken Tomb - click on the little red + sign next to it to expand options.
In the final option you can turn off Bar Color and this will turn off the bar showing on the screen. I’d leave announcement alone so you still get the verbal alert.
Edit to add: If you don’t have DBM and can’t or don’t want to change the options, the other option you have is to have your UI Character Portrait somewhere accessible. The standard UI position is the upper left hand corner of the screen. If you click on your character portrait, it automatically targets your character.

I do have DBM, and it hadn’t occurred to me to check it. I will go into the options and see if that helps. Thank you all for the suggestion!
