Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

So this just means the broken OP classes will still be broken OP, relative to the rest, because everyone’s damage is going down equally. It’ll just take slightly longer for them to kill you.

I suppose the point is to provide some counterplay to insane burst. But I feel like the only big offender are rogues.

Nobody likes hitting and critting for less than they are used to. It undermines the integrity of the game.

Just give us a stam buff in pvp.

You know what I did when they tried pulling this BS in phase 1? I stopped queuing for bgs. I had enough of these clowns messing around under the hood and making hidden changes to the game.

Every time I will pvp now and notice how I’m hitting for less it will take me outta the game world and make me think about blizzards meddling.

Explain how this would work exacly?

Stormwinds call: increases hp by 30%

Orgrimmars warcry: increases hp by 30%

Just buff our hp when we are out in the world. They already do it during stv and the balance feels great.

So you just want them to give a permanent HP buff out in the world? Have to adjust the Health/DMG of mobs in every zone to compensate? Is this just PvP servers? Only active when you are PvP flagged. Only when you engage in PvP combat?

What about if you are half health and get attacked, just scale up your HP and heal the missing HP? I 2-3 shot people in STV, I’m sure that feels great for the recipients.

A key component of classic wow is that players and mobs are treated relatively equally in terms of damage taken. Only in later expansions did they change this model, first with resilience, then with set bonuses etc, then with full commie stat loadouts. They even tried faking numbers in bfa in the hopes people wouldn’t notice.
It’s all corruption and detrimental to the games integrity and immersion.

If players are doing too much damage, nerf the runes and spells, or buff the stamina.

Having two sets of numbers we see is a horrible solution.

Honestly this buffs casters vs Shadow Priest more than it buffs Casters vs Melee which is both sad and funny lmao.

Burst isn’t the thing owning me in BGs, it’s Shadow Priests and Druids. Fairy Fire needs to be a 10 yard range and the Shadow Priest dots need to be nerfed down to a 15 yard range.

The instant ranged dots that prevent me from stealthing are owning me, I don’t care about the damn burst. These devs don’t play the game.

They didn’t even follow through in their idea to have pvp gear in SoD give a lot of stamina. In fact, my set was gutted in a hotfix shortly before p3.

I don’t get it. There’s easy solutions already there.

Is it really that hard to slap on 150 extra stamina across pvp gear?

Meta locks are a meme. Serious pvp warlocks are not using it. Sacrificing fear utterly kills warlocks biggest utility, and shifting for fear isn’t viable when it costs 1/3 of your mana. Haunt is the actual BiS pvp rune.

You are a minority. For most, the manageable pvp burst in phase 1 was the best state of pvp in SoD by far, which is pathetic when this is the phase when classes were also the simplest and in theory should have been the most boring.

Premade v premade battles in phase 1 where you had to mana burn, cc chain, and coordinate and not YOLO 1 SHOT ZUG ZUG were extremely enjoyable. P2 where everyone got blasted in 2 hits was complete utter garbage.

Go roll a caster then come back and let us know how you’re enjoying those 10 yard ranged abilities you’re suggesting.

Yeah maybe that short range is extreme, but I dunno. BG logging until 60.

I feel like shadow will only become more oppressive with these changes. The crazy thing about Shadow is that its a dot centric spec that is so dominate in a meta thats extremely fast-paced and high-burst. If you slow the meta down that gives its crazy strong DoTs more time to tick away. Not to mention its a hybrid healer, who will also benefit from these changes.

And blizzard was even nice enough to give them a nice 10% buff yesterday to help them offset the damage reduction :worried:

Wow, it only took what… 2 months for this to be pushed? Lil too late there. Should’ve been added week 1 of p2. anyway, cheers!

if you’re reading this devs, you might want to launch this for open-world pvp combat aswell
(simply add a buff to ALL players whenever they leave major cities like Org/stormwind that gives us this damage reduction resil buff.)

This is a good change but I feel like its not enough.

BGs are just Shadow Priest and Hunter city.

Why did you give Shadow 41 yard spells, its like you learned nothing from p1 and p2 boomkins.

who cares? pve is already stupid easy

this destroys 2h enhancement in battlegrounds. The highest two handed crit I have gotten on a clothie was 980 with the level 50 STV totem; I had 980 AP with battle shout. while Lava Lash is critting for 1k+.
