Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

They don’t care. Enough people have to take their money out of Blizzard’s pockets before they do anything. However, since all their devs play Alliance and the majority of the playerbase is Alliance, when you add the remaining Horde players who will stick around because they mostly PvE, there are no consequences for these decisions.

The same thing will happen now. What makes you think it will be different? Any class with off heals currently dominates pvp, this will make it worse.

This is a bandaid over a severed head, so is the health pool increase.

You cant give utility classes damage comparable to classes that have absolutely none and damage and burst the same to ranged as melee.

Annnd more feral nerfs lol. What a joke. Now we will be sitting ducks after 3 shifts and oom when opponents have more time to kite, cc and reset fights.

No more earth shield and swapping to shaman rage as we will need it at every cooldown possible during combat.

Just add pvp resilience for pvp sets. That’s simple.

Hopefully this is a step in the right direction. Also hope this does not negatively affect underpowered classes like feral anymore.

Increasing stamina would get around both of these issues

I’m glad you are doing something to address the burst damage issue, but your solution is wrong.

The reason it didn’t work in P1 is because it made healers far too strong, meaning the team with more disc priests was the team that won 90% of the time. If you decrease damage by 20% then you are also giving heals a 20% buff, as they are 20% more effective in proportion to the damage they are healing against. Combine this with the fact the healers have more time to react and more time to outlast CC/silences and this change gives healers a MASSIVE buff.

If you did a damage reduction of 20% then the real change is that healers end up with like a 30-40% buff (combination of survivability, heal effectiveness and diminished CC/silence impact). We will just go back to the same p1 issue of more healers = win, which isn’t fun for pugging BGs.

An alternative solution is to just increase health pools. Change stam so 1stam = 12hp instead of the current 10hp - should be a very easy change in the code. That will increase everyone’s health pool by roughly 15-20%, which is effectively the same as if our damage got a 15-20% dmg reduction. However, healing efficiency will remain roughly the same. Healers will still get a buff from having more time to react and to outlast CC/silences, but at least their heals wont have a massive output in comparison to damage. You can then also just increase PVE boss damage by 5% to compensate for PVE (as healer output will remain the same) - but you will be rebalancing all lvl 60 raids anyway and can balance the fights around the larger health pools.

Cool so hybrid classes are gonna be kings? shamans unkillable again? Just slow dps them and they instant cast full heal? All i have is burst, my class has the utility of a trashcan

Mages, Shamans, Spriest.

Those will be the top pvp classes if you roll this out.

DPS for classes with more defensives such as hybrids and healers
And stamina for classes that cant heal and have no defensives because else they will still die fast lol

So basically nothign changes, this just literally buffd healers and It also buffs warlocks, spriest and enhancement shamans lol

sooooooo warrior will gets double taxed from this damage reduction since they will get less rage.

IT DID AFFECT HUNTER PETS, they also didn’t get the 25% DR themselves. Nice misinformation dude.

Sounds to me like this is giving you more rage.

Idk, is a general stam buff that bad? Regular mobs shouldn’t be this hard when we are in bis raid gear yet if I pull 2 I’m struggling.

I feel like if they just changed the stv buff to be a permanent faction buff on pvp servers the game would feel a lot better.
