Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

Sounds pretty boaring maybe a 50% damage nerf isn’t the play

Really so the healers are incapable of doing any damage? Incredible stuff

But what if there are multiple healers and then the healer you were trying to oom fell back to drink while the other healers kept healing. I guess you gotta send a sneaky rogue into the back line to sap em good thing we always have a stealthed rogue handy for situations such as this.

I am pretty sure it does especially with all the abilities they have to restore mana along with potions as well. Maybe the 10 min BS slug fest I was in last night was just a dream.

Fact is there was no nuance with the damage reduction contrary to Aggrend’s claim that there would be. It has simply been a poor man’s resilience for a game simply not designed for it.

Increased stamina is the way to go since it demands virtually no fine tuning compared with many damage/healing reductions on a case by case basis that would be required.

Blanket nerfs don’t work bc some classes are designed to do more dmg but have less defensives while others do less dmg but have lots of defensives or cds. Resil needs to be added…Pvpers should be rewarded. blanket nerfs will make your high burst classes with no healing/def/cc handicapped.

Crit is already too low for resil. It’s called stamina on pvp gear and better food/water

Why would anyone play healer if they can’t outheal a single dps?

1 pc of resil gear should give u like 5% less damage and 1-2% less crit…Just have to change the values

Because healers should be required to use their kits and/or teammates to peel for them. Allowing them to play like PvE healbots ruins the experience for everyone else.

Well they can but people have abilities to stop the healer from getting their cast off which allows them to set up a kill window. When you do 50% less damage you just don’t do enough damage to ever kill them until they are oom

Healers should not be able to be killed by a single dps when there’s still mana in the tank unless they get severely outplayed.

reducing crit is not the play

It doesnt matter, if even freecasting the healing done is lesser than the damage taken, it makes no sense bringing a healer

Without the aura, I can kill any single healer through their free casting heals

With the damage reduction nerf it felt like actual classic pvp.

I even was able to put up bleeds in catform instead of hiding in bear all the time.

My healers always do fine because they use their kits and I peel for them. They should not be facetanking DPS.

Well they do and they always have. They need to juke kicks and cc to get heals off but not with a 50% dam nerf cuz its boaring. They just get to stand there mindlessly healing until they oom which is what a lot of people want. Probably because they are bums.

They shouldn’t be facetanking DPS is my point which is what this damage reduction allowed them to do.

Classic =/= TBC and onward PvP. Resilience is an actual system that those later incarnations were developed around with nuance that Blizzard has shown themselves incapable of with these damage reductions.

Aggrend claimed there would be nuance with this round of damage reduction and there was none. Increased stamina at least allows them to be lazy otherwise.

you can’t juke a 1shot

My team was always able to fight until we ran out of recourses in phase 2 and phase 3. I don’t see how we did it tho since according to everyone 1 button press from any class equated to an unhealable demise.

I guess its a good thing not everyone is an arcane mage

Because we didnt have instant aimed shots + double chimera shot + multishot, all with 30% crit chance

I’m a MM hunter, noone lives through that

This is Jaisee, I healed all weekend on this priest. I found it fun for the most part but it wasn’t like I was a god. Mortal Strike really hurts and mattered more and mana definitely did not last 5 minutes if the other team controlled my shadowfiend.

Also Disc priests die almost instantly to rogues/ferals/ele without the nerf

felt good to be able to defend myself for once.
