Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

Pets still take full damage so they instant die. But they do reduced damage.

You had to use your full kit before. This idea that everyone had a 100% crit chance and every fight had a 100% chance to end in a globaling is absurd. It shows how bad you are. You need the handicap of the game being slower for your slow brain to function. This change makes it easier for BUMS to team up and over power people cause no one can do enough damage now to deal with healers. Boaring change for BUMS

huntard isnt in bg for damage, thats your first issue.

You’re there to disrupt with traps and viper sting boomies, spriests and all healers.

Stop using zug zug brain u would realize this reduction is a gigantic buff for hunters

To assume is to make an a** out of you and me and thats what you’re doing. You have no information on how I play the game. Go lick windows kid.

I know exactly how you play because you have been in here crying about it for hours.

Now if you learn how to play a hunter correctly you would realize these changes is the best pvp SOD has seen since launch day.

I can see Monday’s reaction to this official post. The dev will add something like oops, lol. the lol part is what chaps me. So many people time wasted for this lol.

Should have been focusing on giving healers more tools to counter burst. Having to actually react to damage with a speedy save is more satisfying gameplay than just conserve mana and hope the other team rots first.

Priest was pretty good with dispersion and pain supp.
Shaman was a fair second they have less tools and more just instant healing.
Then the rest is just worse and worse

Now the meta is shaman because they fight the mana war better and have poison cleansing totem against viper sting

This isn’t even remotely true, especially in solo queue. Hunter control is important, but damage feels awful against any class with any sort of self sustain. When you’re self healing out heals a full DPS class, its a problem. And Blizz decided to give almost every class self healing in SoD it feels like. To cut damage in what feels like more than half, leave health pools and have heals have no reduction means it vastly overpowers healing. Securing kills in solo queue without arena level coordination against heals sucks.

This would be significantly more reasonable.

this has quite possibly been the worst PVP experience I have had in this game since I started playing back in 2005. Reducing damage but not reducing healing is idiotic, the entire change in later expansions with PVP gear was to counter the scaling issues. You would be better off doubling the amount of armor on PVP gear, restricted to pvp areas, and a 15% reduction in spell and healing than what ever this failed experiment is.

Really good incentive to level something in the meantime that will be completely hotfixed when this trash is reverted Tuesday…

This change is so f-ing toxic. I am OOM before I can do anything. And these Hunters just drop Viper Sting and laugh all the way to the bank. Also, the damage reduction is disproportionately benefitting Alliance because of Paladins. Since they pretty much never have to bubble now, flags are impossible to take from them in AB. Whole teams just constantly respawn, making it extremely oppressive.

hunter to kill high lvl stuff even though i never really farm

nothing works anymore in pvp o.o is it me or 4 days is long to test something such as that huge change o.O?

Tried it for past two days and absolutely hate it, please revert mechanic back. Healers feel way to powerful, fights last too long, honor grind is effectively increased due to the slower pace. Feels like retail pvp which people DO NOT WANT. The quicker burstier fighting is what separates classic pvp from retail pvp. If you need to nerf damage output, do something like 20% or so, not 50%. And healing received/given in pvp should be nerfed to the same percentage. Healers are way to OP with this change.

A boomie went oom trying to kill my restro druid lol…

seems like it’ll make a difference for some of the more bursting classes the most. classes that already prefer longer fights will likely feel even stronger.

our damage is still fine post nerf

why would viper sting be effective vs boomie

its just boring. did an ab on my rdru and it was literally a “nothing happened then we won” scenario even though i was in combat the entire game.

not much of a sense of urgency for healers anymore and that’s what made pvp healing fun.
