Testing Adding Damage Reduction to PvP

I really just read this as all you’re doing PvP for is an efficient honor farm/blood coin farm. You’re not actually enjoying the fights. You just want fast kills for fast honor. There has to be a balance.

Played about 4 hours of AB today. The changes are a complete failure. It has sucked all the tension, excitement and strategy out of PVP. Healers are absurdly overpowered and I find myself draining enemy mana as a priority. Aside from that, my mind now drifts away in the midst of battle as I interrupt flag caps and CC my enemies as they gradually and tediously make dents in my health bar.

Please revert the change and immediately stop tampering with things you clearly don’t understand.

Thank you.

What “strategy” was there before? It’s a genuine question. All you did in the prior state was spam as much damage as possible before you randomly died in a blackout/boomie RNG stun.

There have been multiple occasions today where I go bear to spin a flag while my team gets resurrected. I’m sacrificing damage and killing for a defensive play. Before if I tried that I just die instantly. The game isn’t just a keyboard slam killing fiesta anymore, it’s good. It gives you time to rotate in AB and actually defend.

What ya leveling, I always swear I’m going to make a feral, never do.

i see your point, but you are rude xD

Locking down healers with CC long enough so that their effectiveness is mitigated.
Sneaking a few players to Mine, dismantle defenders and cap it before reinforcements/resurrections are able to arrive.
Having to think about positioning and timing abilities well to avoid death.

I don’t really know what you mean tbh. If there’s no strategy in the game, as you say, then what separates the good players from the bad? There’s no question there’s a large gap between the good and the bad.

Before the change, it mattered WHEN you used certain abilities, because the fight would only last so long. How many times have you died and realised there’s something you could’ve done differently to sway the fight? That’s been severely hindered now, because you find yourself using every ability several times over in a battle.

I’m not suggesting a tweak didn’t have to be made. But what it has become now is just ridiculous.

Honestly, gear just needs more stam on it, damage levels are close to BWL output, but we have like 5-10 or sometimes no stam on items. Blizzard gives us a set that reduces stamina by like what -35 and other gear thats like +5 is like “huh why people die fast?”

My brother in Christ, you gave us bosses with Patchwork health pools and then basically unadjusted stam pools and went “this is fine”. Hitting for less doesn’t feel good, having more HP does. Problem solved.

Just here to spam more feedback that healers are unkillable. I don’t mind the damage reduction but to reduce damage without also reducing healing done…like cmon guys…I do like that fights last a little longer. But I think the general consensus is that we want more stamina gear for pvp and don’t touch the damage were doing…that feels bad.

Revert the change and just put in catas resilience. 12.5% less likely to be crit, 25% less crit damage, and dot dage taken. It’s fixed, ghostcrawler did the work for you 14 years ago.

Never have I ever loved using viper sting in pvp until now.

Yea being able to use your full kit instead of hitting your 1 or 2 dps buttons is so terrible. You kids are so bad at pvp its comical.

My MM hunter felt great. Everyone seemingly had their burst they could do and for those who actually play the game we were able to figure out how to deal with other classes burst. Now my hunter feels worthless… in fact this feels 5x worse than the 10% nerf yall tried in another phase. If everyone hated 10% wouldnt 50% be 5x the risk?

Hoping this is removed rapidly as i’m OOM before someone is even half hp and i’ve got pretty great gear. Healers are invincible. Meta’d locks are basically invincible. There is nothing fun about this. Please fix or SoD PvP scene will most likely die.

you’re ooming on a hunter with asepct of viper???

LoL i don’t think the game is the problem bud

Yes, i do oom very quick. The game is the problem. Obviously use viper… but my damage is reduced even further while its in use. Shooting a pez dispenser for 200 damage feels horrible. This is a very lazy way of changing the game.

Charging up a 4 second aimed shot for 300 damage… you get the point.

I don’t like the damage reduction at all. Fights take way too long and healing is too powerful. Soul link lock becomes pretty useless in PvP because it takes 30 years to kill anyone and by then they’re healed. Lock doesn’t have too many viable options in PvP and with this there’s even less. Why not just nerf boomkin/shadow priest dmg instead so squishies aren’t getting 1 shotted/melted? I had a lot of fun before but don’t wish to play anymore if the damage reduction stays.

No we take those shots since we are higher level and more seasoned adventurers like other higher level Npcs

Are you seriously arguing PvP requiring thought and planning means players are unskilled and slow? Someone better tell all those stupid chess players how skill-less and slow they are. Seriously though, PvP is still quite fast paced, I’m sorry that you have to do more than press 2 buttons before a fight is over and that hurts you.

you know what doesn’t require a lot of thought? A single pennance equating to about 8k effective damage. Classic doesn’t have the tools to deal with longer fights, its not a game of chess, its 1 person playing checkers while the other plays backgammon.

I would MAYBE agree with you, if people had more CC options (also ones that removed dot effects), everyone had a kick, everyone had a big burst CD, ect… but they dont.
