You’re not wrong, but hostilities were only put on hold at that exact moment in time. I believe had the Alliance-Horde forces been somehow successful in repelling the Legion, hostilities would’ve returned to normal.
Yeah but it was in AU draenor even if it was good, probably wouldn’t have long lasting impact other than people saying wod is better than (current xpac)
My personal experience is that I hadn’t heard anybody say WoD was a better expansion than Legion when it was current.
You shouldn’t chide them even if they make everyone on their team look bad. They are just fulfilling Blizzard’s faction war plan. That the players would violently hate eachother for contrived reasons. “Look how the Horde betrayed you on the Broken Shore!” “Look at how the Alliance is blaming you for their own incompetence at the Broken Shore!”
heh, It me Sisyphus attempting to deescalate on an anonymous internet forum
edit: @Kirango, you see my post linking Niadrix’s thoughts from the other thread? That I think binds up alot of the problem approaching it from the other side of the hat if you will
Why are you slandering the discord with lies?
-
it’s not hate-filled, we are people who love the warcraft story but, recently don’t like the direction it is going and all have our own opinions about it, giving valid criticizes about it when certain aspects of the story are brought up.
-
Many of us quit, including sam due to the direction the story was going in my case it was the fact that we are again repeating a story that has already been done and it all feels pointless, part of me feels like the devs don’t understand that they are really killing many players motivation.
From Horde players who don’t wanna be “lol Evil” and actually want a reason to fight, to the Alliance players who actually want to go attack the horde, but always react to what they do.
To be fair theres a massive amount of sylvanas waifu fans in there and they can get really really toxic in there defense of her.
I appreciated everyone taking part in this discussion. This thread has gone a lot better than I thought it would, honestly.
And also, I would like to give a quick shoutout to the discord for encouraging me to make this thread. The discussions there have made it easier to word my thoughts specifically on this subject.
From what I’ve seen, almost all of it is tongue-in-cheek. I don’t think anybody takes those posts seriously except for Noldor.
Honestly, the only reason Darnassus draws such ire is because it A. Succeeded, and B. is fresh in our memories.
Not only in the RTS, but multiple times in the past decade we’ve had multiple attempts at genocide from the various races of Azeroth, both Alliance and Horde. Those weren’t strikes to break someones morale either, those were deliberate attempts to ethnically cleanse.
The problem with the faction war is at this point we have a near insurmountable book of grudges.
Also wrong but close enough since you’ll now have to admit they were then restarted. Which means, you caught up.
Now lets see what else we’ve got from your post.
They were. That was the whole point of the Rogue class hall missions.
“Its all tongue and cheek” its really hard to see it that way when the other factions (alliance, honor horde) are all in the minority.
I insult sylvanas in the discord on a daily basis and I still haven’t woken up next to a decapitated horse head in my bed.
Are you expecting there to be some kind of quota?
No but people call me bad words all the time, I personally dont care, its tooo fun sometimes, but I can see how other people wouldn’t like it.
Well this thread is completely off the rails.
Getting back to OP’s question, I’d ask a question: Are you familiar at all with the old Fletcher Hanks comic book character Fantomah?
If not, Fantomah was a mysterious woman, a protector of her jungle home, who loved the plants and animals of her jungle and would visit extremely cruel and frankly ridiculous punishments on anyone who threatened them. There was never really any limit set on her powers and they seemed to change as the plot demanded. She might turn into a giant and squash someone under her feet, or cause the trees to come to life and choke them to death, or cause them to turn into grass and be run over by a lawn mower, or randomly transform into a beast and eat them alive. Often times the punishment didn’t really fit the ‘crime’ in any real way and rather than an avatar of justice she was seen more akin to a force of nature or a specter of vengeance.
Watching this cinematic reminded me of Fantomah, and how in her comics her enemies never stood a chance against her because the plot made her as powerful as she needed to be in order for the writers bizarre ecological vengeance fantasies could be played out.
Malfurion here does not seem like the protector of the natural world, he just seems like a max level pvper picking on a few low level scrubs. Tyrande doesn’t come off as a righteous seeker of justice, but rather as a vengeful specter, a thief in the night. I couldn’t bring myself to root for either of them even if I wasn’t a primarily Horde player because it’s so obvious from what I know of them that they have been warped and forced into this shape to appear more fearsome not in a way that makes them respectable, but in a way that makes them cruel and alien. In a way that makes them so one sidedly powerful that it doesn’t even make sense that the Horde could offer them any opposition and seriously calls into question how they ever managed to lose Darkshore or allow Teldrassil to burn.
It’s just making the Horde look stupider and weaker than they are in an effort to make up for how stupid and weak the plot made the Night Elves in order for something akin to parity to exist at the start of BFA. For the Alliance I don’t see how this isn’t too little too late.
For the horde it’s just adding insult to injury considering we’re already presented as in the wrong, now we’re also too pitifully weak to even stand up to our supposed ‘victims’.
People call everyone bad words all the time. It has absolutely nothing to do with what characters you do or do not like.
Are you going to get upset cause someone doesnt like the discord, so sad.
We have a huge range of people fan girling over many things from Sylvanas, Jaina, and Maiev, to Garrosh, Lorthemar along with the Bloodelves, and Vol’jin.
I haven’t seen anyone get toxic over Sylvanas, unless it goes into a “Kill sylvanas” and people defuse that real quick because we’re adults we can talk about an outcome of a character you want dead and I want alive without it spiraling out of control.
The only person who invokes rage in our discord and takes most everything seriously is as Sarm said Noldor we love him but he does push the boundaries.
Nobody is upset lmao. I’m just pointing out facts that you aren’t personally victimized for not liking a character. When you have people like Treng spreading lies cause they’re salty, its good to correct misinformation.
