Add player housing, itâll enable people to become âinterior decoratorsâ and make huge amounts of bank doing that for people.
Iâve seen it in games with housing and they make as much, if not more, than people who game the AH.
Of course itâs not, but Blizzard doesnât really care about the auction house at all. They donât care about real bots and they also donât care about shady and excessive market manipulation.
Well, ban people for excessive manipulation (like buying up tons of cheap legendaries from high pop realms, transfer realm and then control the markets of all low pop realms with the cheaper items) and ban bots. But that doesnât happen, so I donât know.
I donât think any rule is being broken. And a player buying and reselling items on the AH isnât wrong. Buy low, sell high! Is the basics. I donât know this person but if they have as much time and have put in the effort to cover so much I honestly wonder why you think some kind of action is in order simply because they are making a profit.
I mean we could try to ridicule them but I donât really see that as being effective to regaining market control.
This seems like a matter only Blizzard could deal with, though if this guy is paying out of the wazoo in cash to stay online I doubt theyâd do anything about it.
Though if heâs only paying in gold Iâd of thought Blizz wouldâve sniped tricksters like that by now.
First of all, very good post.
This is a very complicated issue. I have noticed the great deals list has been nonexistent too, but I thought that was a TSM thing. It did come back for a bit, maybe a month ago, but now itâs gone again. Not entirely sure on that, but might be worth looking into.
On your bot comment. I know you donât mean an actual bot, but unless it IS an actual bot, as bad for the game as this may be, I really donât see Blizzard stepping in. Now, you could make an appealing argument that this type of behavior is against the spirit of the game, and I agree it is, and Blizzard has taken steps in the past with that in mind.
Personally, this is disgusting. I think what you should do is get all of your evidence together and make a mega reddit post on the WoW subreddit and see if it goes anywhere. Come back and link it here and maybe something could be done.
Its a free market, if they reached a point were they can do that , then its time to learn from them
Thank you for being one of the few people here who read my post. I take it that not many others are understanding whatâs going on as theyâre ignoring the part where three dozen accounts are running this addon simultaneously throughout any given day. I believe this is in Blizzardâs hands at this point as theyâre the only ones with enough leeway to intervene given this unique circumstance. I think any efforts I make on other websites will be silenced by the moderation teams as witch hunts are not allowed. Iâd rather have the discussion focus around the actions the player is taken and not the player themselves. As I see it, this is no better than multiboxers camping resources and restricting others from accessing those resources, only this is happening strictly on the auction house.
I mean, the unfortunate truth of capitalism is that it inevitably moves towards a monopoly. As insane as it is for one person to control the economy like this Blizzard has historically allowed unfair practices as long as they profit from it.
So players are forced to buy things at higher price? players will need to spend more gold and go broke quicker? they will need to buy a wow token more? blizzard wins here
If you think thereâs botting them report them to hacks@blizzard.com .
Otherwise, people can be glued to their chairs and sniping.
Iâd say gather your evidence and get it to Blizzard. Itâs a fair play issue when it comes to manipulating the market using a bot type addon in my mind, for whatever thats worth lol
I think they need to actually crack down on robber barons and selfish people who exploit others in-game for themselves. That kind of sociopathic behavior has no place in an MMORPG.
This behaviour isnât violating any current rules. My post was meant to act as a springboard for a discussion on if this should be allowed, not if this player should be punished for their shady actions.
This is a huge problem with the economy and has been since this expansion started. The moment legendary prices start becoming reasonable, some idiot buys out the whole market and resells them all for higher prices to âresetâ the market. I tried this as an experiment early on and bought out an entire market for a gem and enchant and made several hundred thousand gold in just a few hours - it just took an investment of 2 million gold. This should not be allowed at all. period.
This isâŚunrelated to my post.
Black rock plays wow?
that would make a really good article, the Wolf of Warcraft lmao
Blizz creates API, itâs open and available for everyone to use. If someone creates something using that API and not using hacks of any kind then what they are doing is acceptable.
I still have my doubts about one person controlling all AH in NA
Multiboxxing is still permitted
This is something Iâve been trying to point out to people for years. This person is 100% abusing bots, as are most of those you see with a Brutosaur parked right next to a mailbox. Keep reporting them when you see them and eventually Blizzard will do something because thatâs been how theyâve always operated. Ignore a problem until itâs too big to ignore.
Itâs disruptive to the gameplay of the game, as itâs engaging in multiple activities that are outright illegal in the real world and how itâd affect real economies.
