The potential in the story, doesn’t feel so isolated in some different world we don’t even know about, the new race looks awesome, I’m excited for the new talent trees.
I really like the color scheme of the new zone. I thought I liked dark wotlk style scenery, but after shadowlands, I need a happy place to play the game.
I heard that the Dragon Isle project has been in development for some time. Since WoW is ultimately derived from the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy series, going back to dragons can be a nice nostalgic turn for World of Warcraft.
That said, a good story that fits a role-playing game, a excellent dragon-riding combat system, and good flying experience riding those dragons can be very demanding for even the best game developing teams. I’m little uncertain if they truly have what it takes to make such an expansion a great one.
I mean that’s a lot of speculating. Those things will probably change over time as your raise/level your dragon. I don’t mind having slight limitations or drawbacks to flight especially since we get it straight from the start.
Yup, seems they really had a backup in work if at this point they still can’t divulge more information than some concept pieces. Or simply scrapped a lot of things midway with their shift in philosophy.
Either way, it definitely was a bit bare bones which contributed to the lack of hype building for me. Not their fault ~ I think what was shown peaked my interest and a lot of things going in a good direction IMO.
Talent tree rework and even the profession revamp looks excellent
It all sounds too good to be true. It looks like a game I can recommend to my friends.
On a scale of 10, a big fat 0. Haven’t checked if they’ve mentioned how the story ties together, but seems like a hard connection to the current expac, so I’m fully expecting more trash tier story line.
Potentially the only good thing will be a few well designed raid fights and that’s probably it, just more of the same. Can’t wait to see how they time gate everything than completely backpedal again in 10.1/10.1.5
They haven’t shown me anything to be hyped about yet. Sure, what they did show was nice and all, but it was just meh to me.
11/10 honestly. The only feature we didn’t see that was on my “everything” wish list was player housing, but true flight race makes up for it. And a new healing/ranged/mail wearing class is so good.
I never thought I’d see physics flight in this game. Huge win for me, it’s been one of my perennial suggestions.
Dragopoco seems like a neat experiment, something customizable that we can make our own.
Dragopoc is definitely cool. I hope we can keep him forever.
The chill out, exploration approach to the story. I am absolutely here for that.
Dragon riding sounds rad as hell!
The dragon people are more and more my jam the more I look into them.
Talent trees!
Finally a revamp of the UI!
There was no part in the announcement I didn’t like honestly.
it didn’t
Hard to be hyped because I know what’s coming. More systems that frustrate and grinds that annoy.
I really liked the cinematic. They put a lot of emotion into the Watcher, without him saying a word. I was so happy to see Alexstraza save him.
Professions revamp.
New zones, new places to go. Looking forward to seeing what they do with Wrathion, who is one of the few characters not from the RTS who got personality development and has stuck around. (And him trying to woo Alexstraza’s aid. XD)
Hopefully we’ll get more information on what’s happening with Turalyon, the Horde Council, in further updates.
Ducks. 'Nuff said!
Honestly, I’m excited about everything they showed, which isn’t really saying much.
It’s on Azeroth, there’s dragons, new race/class that’s not leather or melee…new hero class at that, and it wasn’t something anyone really expected which I’m also excited about. For now I’m sated. We shall see once they unveil more features.
I’m sort of hyped for the fact that it seems like they’re accepting the reality that it isn’t 2010 anymore and there needs to be upgrades and adaption to some of the set in stone systems that have been in place for so long. Hopefully this will start a trend in overall improvements in the game.
I like the idea of the Dragon Isles and there seemed to be enough landscape to actually feel like you’re seeing someplace new instead of tiny zones that you just walk through once and never a reason to return to.
Talent trees look fun.
Crafting is good but I still feel could be better.
Not dreading it like I did the start of Shadowlands. Not hyped either because I’ve learned how to control that impulse over the years.
Cinematic wasn’t super exciting. I’m glad Blizz took winning ideas from other MMOs and looking forward to playing w the talent trees.
