Teldrassil Payback Announced!

Slaughtering the only race on the Alliance side that has helped you at every opportunity because you were shown sympathy by one person is ruthless.

This is just logical.

It’s not my fault the Hordie devs are so stupid they forgot that the Cenarion Circle are technically a Night Elf faction.

Half the Night Elves in the game are literally faction neutral and help the Horde out all the times, both with their individual quests, and with overall lore.

We uncovered their Artifact Weapons. We grew the Arcandor. We led the cleansing of the Emerald Nightmare that was going to turn all Tauren into servants of the Old Gods.

If Sylvanas really wanted to “split allies away from the Alliance”, the Night Elves would have been the first target for a non-Agression pact. We won’t back up the Alliance in a war of aggression against the Horde, we just want to protect the world and be left alone.

Taking Teldrassil hostage made no sense because it turned a non enemy into an enemy.

So I say we act like an enemy. All those Druids helping the Horde out should suddenly show exactly what they think of the faction that cries “death to the living” and slaughters their friends, family, and children.

Slitting the throats of my troll and tauren friends in their sleep doesn’t strike me as a very good way of protecting life.
I’d rather break the cycle and fight aggression with wisdom and understanding.
Also, do you really think the Cenarion Circle’s members in the Horde had anything to do with the recent events?
The heck is wrong with you people?

That’s because you apparently aren’t paying attention to what happens literally EVERY time they are left alive.

Ask Delaryn Summermoon how well that worked out.

Yep. Because I know how the Horde’s questing played out. I know that none of the Horde have disowned or even spoken publicly against Sylvanas. If they actually cared about life, the very first thing we’d have seen upon her getting back to Orgrimmar was how a banshee head reacts to meeting a tree trunk at 130 mph. But no, they just fall in line behind the boob queen.

The heck is wrong with the devs who go “huh, we want a war but the players don’t, what should we do? I know, GENOCIDE!”?

The devs want a war, I say give the devs what they want.

You seem a little over invested. Probably take a bit of a break or something.

That’s what the devs wanted, wasn’t it? Invested players? I keep hearing the Horde begging Alliance players to get more invested in the war. “We’re supposed to be at war, where’s your faction pride, why aren’t you Pvping?”

I’m just trying to give the devs and the Horde what they want. They want a war. Isn’t that right? Isn’t that what they keep telling me.

Well, war sucks. Don’t ask for a war if you aren’t prepared for one. Genocide isn’t just a fun little aside. War isn’t a happy little accident. People die. Innocents die. And that means those on your precious Horde side too. Maybe you should have thought of that before screaming “for the Horde” and torching people who only wanted to be left the hell alone by you worthless hatemongers.

I see where you’re going now. It seems you’re mixing up lore and gameplay. Horde players are all given the same set of quests, regardless of their race and class. Only now in 8.1 they’re taking baby steps at giving players some meaningful choices.

So? Again, what of Hamuul Runetotem? Why didn’t he say anything to the boob queen? Answer: Because he’s rescinded his duty as an archdruid and fallen in line with the “death to the living” cult.

If ANY of the Horde cared, the very first thing that would have happened to Sylvanas upon her return to Orgrimmar would have been her head splashing across the cobblestones as it was struck by a war totem swung as hard as a Tauren can swing it.

They don’t.

How can you be so sure he’s not doing anything about it right now? Do you really believe Archdruid Runetotem is okay with the burning of Teldrassil? Your hatred is clouding your judgement really bad.

My hatred? Hatred is the only thing the Horde has. They’re so pathetically focused on hating the Alliance that the devs literally can’t think of any way to tell a story with a Horde focus that doesn’t involve them beating up the Alliance.

My hatred is for the devs, and their terrible writing and biases. That is the true enemy of the Alliance. This is just another way to fight the real war. Give them what they want, and watch how quickly they hate it.

It also shows what happens when a the writing team has a character do something that is basically unforgivable. Until Sylvanas dies there is basically nothing she can do or those that support her can do to make up for that.

So if the story doesn’t involve Sylvanas biting the dust, yes you are correct. The writing team might as well stop wasting time trying to give the Alliance a win. Because it will never work.

The only effective way to fight the devs is unsubscribing. Is that what you’re suggesting us to do?

Thought about it long and hard. Stopped giving them money a month ago. Will stop buying tokens when I run out of gold.

You have to understand what they really mean though. When the devs and Horde players (one is same as the other really) say they want “a war”, they don’t actually want two sides that are fighting each other.

What they really want, and what the devs give them, is the Horde going out killing and slaughtering anything they want without ever having anyone fight back or having to face the consequences of their actions.

Which is why the game is in the state that it is in.

Well… what HAS he done about it? I haven’t seen a single voice of dissent within the Horde aside from Saurfang. Seems everyone else is okay with what she is doing. /shrug

I mean, it’s been three months.

Even in the PTR stuff that isn’t out yet, and the stuff talked about in Blizzcon as a “yet to come”, none of the Horde characters save Saurfang do anything to step out against her.

The Horde has two principles. One is hatred for the Alliance. The other is total, unwavering devotion to their Warchief. If you get a Warchief like Thrall or Vol’jin, the Horde can be lead down a less than insane path. If you get a Warchief like Garrosh or Sylvanas, the opposite occurs.

But the Horde are incapable of thinking or acting for themselves. They’re a hive that follows their queen bee blindly and unquestionably. If another queen rises up (Vol’jin or Saurfang), they may fight it. But without a new queen to follow, they’re slavishly devoted to the one that already exists.

Personally I would love a scene where Malfurion goes to Moonglade and just goes ape all over every Horde druid there for not opposing Sylvanas. Kicking them out, killing the ones that resist, and chasing after the ones fleeing in terror. Would be pretty great honestly.

Or course that won’t happen though since the Horde player’s feefee’s might get hurt if someone from the Alliance actually made the Horde pay for their choices.

It’s sad that it’s come to this. Back when actual writers were writing for the Horde (in Mists) they had clear principles: members of the Horde should conduct themselves honorably, treat one another as brothers and sisters, and see to their common defense. Vol’jin put it simply: “The Horde that Thrall and I built, is a family.” (Of course, he said it with an accent that I won’t bother trying to mimic.)

And then the writers decided that wasn’t edgy enough, so they put Banshee Spice in charge and turned the clock back 20 years to the time of Warcraft II and the demon-possessed orcs. They won’t admit that they’ve done so, but they’ve ruined the Horde as much as, if not more than the Alliance.

That doesn’t feel much like Malfurion to me. I think he’d give them one last chance to disavow the Horde - if for no other reason than they might be useful in their struggle. (Remember, Furion was the one who advocated allying with the Horde and Alliance at Hyjal, over Tyrande’s objections. He’s always had a pragmatic streak, except where Illidan is concerned.) And for those who won’t make that promise, well… then you send in Tyrande and Maiev.

Indeed they have.

The Foresaken have been undone completely, replaced with the Scourge 2.0. They even said this. The Darkshore scenario is to “bring back the old Scourge vs Night Elf rivalry from WCIII” (not a direct quote, but pretty close, can’t look it up right now). But the Foresaken weren’t supposed to be the Scourge.

What’s more, they’ve made the Horde frankly pathetic.

In Cataclysm, they told a Horde centered story in which the Alliance was nearly worthless. Our characters helped some in Hyjal (and, again, it was the Night Elves, because they were basically a neutral faction that Sylvanas decided to go to war with), that’s about it. Everything else was the Aspects and Thrall.

And it worked, it was a Horde story that stood on its own.

Now? We can get a standalone Alliance story. That’s what most of Legion was. Alliance heroes being big damn heroes and saving the world (both factions of it). But the Horde don’t have a story anymore without the Alliance.

Tyrande and Maiev command the Sentinels, though. And the Sentinels are the ones guarding the Barrow Dens. And neither one of them is much of the “asking permission” type.

Now, THIS makes a lot more sense than purging Cenarion Circle members while they hibernate just because they happen to belong to a Horde race.
