Is the tech support forum for customers to assist each other? I don’t see any moderation so I’m just curious. Please don’t come to be argumentative. It’s not helpful.
The blue post are Blizz employees, Tech Support specific in that forum, similar to how the blues here are Support Forum Agents and in the non-support forums the blues are community managers.
The support forums (tech, Customer, bug report etc.) are primarily for players to help other players, but are monitored and replied to by the blues. This forum probably has the heaviest blue presence due to the nature of it.
Often though, there will be other players in the Tech Support forums, even some MVPs, who can help by looking at logs provided by players having issues like connection or lag issues.
Ah I see. Maybe it’s a little different today. I see about one blue post per day over there, but a lot more responses in this forum. Maybe an off week to base it on.
They do respond over in the tech support forum when needed, but if the correct steps to follow have already been given by a member of the community, they don’t need to respond and can look at other threads to see if their assistance is needed.
Blue moderation kind of comes and goes, it can be sparse at times. If you want a guaranteed response to your issue, you need to submit a ticket. There are a fair number of players who try to give advice, but jumping around to multiple threads and posting “same problem” isn’t something anyone will respond to. There are some tips at the top of the forum about the sorts of information that you can include in that help people see if there is a problem - for latency it would be running a winmtr. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/27780
There are enough people with fios posting that they are having an issue to suspect that it is a FIOS problem. A fair amount of the time if blizz does identify a certain ISP as having an issue they will jump into threads to confirm it. But either way you would need to complain to verizon about the latency problem - they are the ones you pay to get your traffic to blizzard.
Some things you can do to confirm it is an ISP issue are
-run a winmtr and post it to see if the problem shows up on there
-use a VPN and see if the problem goes away
-use an alternate internet connection like a phone tether to see if the problem goes away
If using a vpn or alternate internet connection solves it then you’ve isolated it to your ISP being an issue. The winmtr can help narrow things down further but won’t show every issue.
Unsubbed and moving on. Go be condescending and make assumptions about someone else. If you don’t know how some of the wording you used is inflammatory, I feel bad for you.
Not sure exactly who you were replying to, but I think you’re reading into their reply a little too much. Nobody here has been condescending in any way.
Best of luck in your future gaming.
I am also confused. Looking at your post history you have an issue with lag and/or freezing. You visited and posted in many threads with “same here” type of replies. You also demanded a Blue reply a couple times.
The forums are primarily for players to help other players although Tech Support and CS are heavily moderated by Blues who jump in as they can during shifts.
The troubleshooting Toffle suggested is solid and one of the best things you can do to help yourself get data.
If you don’t want to do that though, that is up to you. Best of luck where your gaming adventure takes you.
I don’t want to hear about it anymore. Stop reading my posts and move on. I can see all you do is try to slam dunk on frustrated customers that say one thing wrong and talk about lawsuits. I don’t care. If you don’t want people saying same here. Then say that. If you think talking about issues for the service you pay for is “complaining” fair enough. I’m not paying to go troubleshoot an issue many people have and I’m not buying a vpn on top of all this.
If you post, people are going to read them?
It’s not the lawsuits themselves, but it’s just that they have absolutely no bearing on people’s issues that bring them here or to Tech Support. People are happy to help, but when you’ve got nothing to fall back on but wanting to slap out with irrelevant raving that has nothing to do with this particular issue? It makes no sense, to be frank. I don’t mean this to be condescending or anything of the sort, but just laying out the facts.
There are free VPNs you can use to test with. If you don’t want to do any troubleshooting on your end then you won’t get any help. That is up to you.
I don’t recommend the same tactic though when you contact tech support for anything else. If they ask you to restart a modem, double check XYZ, it is helpful to do and provides data they can use.
Trolling this forum is a poor idea. Correcting false information they posted is something I do, yes. What you don’t see are the posts that were removed by moderators because they were against the rules. What is left is the corrections and clarifications. If people want to bring up things that are not relevant to CS or TS, then they can expect it to get removed or corrected.
In your case you have a connection issue. You won’t do any of the client side troubleshooting. You demanded a Blue reply which would ask for the same thing. I am not sure there is anything else that can be done to help you. You don’t want to do a winmtr or anything else
If you don’t want people reading them then don’t post it’s that simple.
Sorry I’m frustrated and not used to this. I know I’m ranting. Please just close this and move on and help other people.
Locking the thread, but I think most of us understand frustration level, especially when there are issues caused well outside your control.
I don’t think any of the advice provided was meant to be condescending, they just wanted to provide some advice on how best to post actionable information that others can do something with.
Good luck, Tukafgamuruk.
