TCG Loot Cards

Will we be able to redeem loot cards in TBC Classic? Or if not possible due to codes being tied to retail, maybe carry over previously redeemed codes in retail to TBC Classic? Similar to Vanilla CE pet awards being carried over to current Classic.

Brian Birmingham: That is certainly the intent. I know that one of the tricks is that the way we store some of those licenses changed over time, so it was a challenge to even do it for the original Classic. But it is something we feel like is important to honor if you got the Collector’s Edition at the time. We want to make it possible for you to get the Collector’s Edition reward you got at the time, and so, we’re gonna do some effort to try and see if we can detect that same license the way it used to be recorded on your account, and if we can detect that you originally bought the BC Collector’s Edition, we will give you the original BC Collector’s Edition pet.

One would think this same philosophy will apply to TCG redeemed codes if they can detect the license.

I sure would like to have my Murky come into Outland with me, the way I did back in the day.

the issue is that the tgc stuff got duped and the people who spent literally a million gold or more on some of this stuff without a code would rage to high heaven about it being included because they paid so much but can’t use it cuz they didn’t have the code.

People will rage regardless. People getting duped is not anyone elses fault. They can rage.

Oh hi Noobivore!

The TCG dupes happened long after classic,TBC, and wotlk

They are lucky they even made the items and mounts Boe or those dupes wouldn’t exist in the 1st place

given the temperament of the average classic forum goer… which is whine as much as possible about everything they possibly can… if i were blizz i would just say no outright and then let those players rage and then leave. vs making anyone who has committed to retail (a much larger player base) that has played and paid for longer more angry. but that’s just me thinking long term. a lot of yall will stop playing completely if they stop at wrath classic. so they’d be throwing away long term money for people who aren’t staying past a few more years anyway.

They should just let people get CEs again. It’s silly not to, there’s no value in these things.

Hi Stardust Crusaders! Y’alls guild name sounds like an epic hair band.

I’ll pass that along.

Sharp and Shiny also says “hi”.

You used it once shouldn’t be able to use it again.

lol I wanted to join SnS when I first came to Bloodsail but they were full on rogues =[

The same can be said about the collector edition pets, but Blizzard seems to value rewarding veteran Classic players with their old redemption code cosmetics.

Yeah but there is a difference between buying a collectors edition and buying cards on Ebay.

A lot of people waited outside at midnight releases in the cold of January for those big difference.

I waited outside of card shops for brand new wow tcg booster pack expansions, plus the same can be said about people who attended BlizzCon for the murloc pet and costume. All were rewarded as a code.

People bought collectors editions on eBay too what’s your point?

I’m for all cosmetic codes as long as they were redeemed in their current expansions and not duped or bought on BMAH 10 years after the fact

Thats what they did for the OG Collectors Edition…
If they do I might have access to my thumbs down PvP flag depending on where the cut off line for WotLK loot cards would be drawn.

I have been wondering this same thing since classic release. I didnt know about any “duping”?
But I definately want my fav one, the ogre suit “trinket”. I also got the tabards and turtle mount (for a bank toon, lol).
Given they are giving CE pets to ppl, we should get these too if we already have them in retail.

The easiest solution is for the system check who has them on retail and simply have the items sent to you in-game in mail BOP non Tradeable. No redeeming and no making profit off of them.
