Now that we’re almost at the doors of ICC, what are your thoughts regarding both WOTLK and TBC? Is one better than the other? Are they about the same?
It was said that for many people WOTLK was peak WOW, but now that we’ve all gotten a chance to relive it as an expansion do you think it’s better than TBC or was TBC the better expac? I am curious to hear people’s subjective thoughts.
The Boosting Crusade vs Wrath of the Raid Log King, what do you think WOW forums?

For me they’re pretty similar and I can’t really decide which I liked better.
I liked the content in TBC and a few class/spec designs better
But lots of QoL (mainly Dual-spec and raid wide buffs) and most class/spec design changes of WOTLK are better.
I’ve mained a Prot Pally since the start of TBC.
In Wrath Prot Pally has a fully redesigned and very fluid rotation. Lots of CDs that were completely lacking in TBC, it came into its own as a fully fledged Main Tank.
But the biggest thing I liked about TBC Prot Pally over Wrath Prot was gearing.
TBC Prot Pally was so unique for gearing. Scaling off of Spell Damage just added a super interesting feel to gearing. In Wrath Prot Pally gears very similarly to Prot Warriors which isn’t as fun.

WoTLK is better all round for Balance Druids and Feral Druids

They’re neck and neck for me, there are some minor differences between the two games but they’re relatively the same to me.
Paladin was way more fun in all roles in TBC but I really enjoy the kit they have in Wrath. The world design and gear design was so much stronger in TBC but I love a lot of the aesthetical choices in Wrath as well. Icecrown, Grizzly Hills, Dragonblight, all amazing zones.
Also pretty much everything Kynsalia said about gearing paladins:
I liked the spell power scaling, I understand why it was streamlined but I don’t entirely agree with it.

its not apples to apples comparison, wotlk has had the most changes and is the most bastardized version of classic to date.

WotlkC & tbc-c Both are trash compared to original TBC or Original Wotlk

TBC was alot better than Wotlk for me, and we got gutted TBC and gutted Wrath

Classic and crusade never had a chance because Blizzard refused to put dual spec or dungeon finder in them. Wrath wouldn’t get it either until 3/4 of the way through, but no one knew that before hand. Classic/crusade could have also used tons of other QOL changes they refused to do any of.
I’d suggest looking up what “world first” means before throwing it around.
OG WotLK hands down is the pinnacle of WoW.
This is like a world first, this guy was unimpressed by Classic because NOT ENOUGH changes
Can’t say yet. WotLK starts when RDF is added. I’ve skipped most of Wrath not having RDF has kept me away. As long as RDF is added right we finally get to play the game, make Alts and get some gear.
Think the end of Wrath is where the expansion shines though. Extremely fun powerful gear and Lich King.
I liked the TBC content better.
However, they shouldn’t have split phase one into two seperate phases. It made the first part of TBC long boring and drawn out.
Having said that I loved the raids. There was also a much better PvP scene.

But also, nobody would of done mag unless they HAD to attune people
Content-wise, I’m still a WOTLK fan because the lore didn’t change. Gameplay-wise, TBC had less interference from developers who were doing random things without thinking about the player base.
TBC balancing was really bad but some raids were cool for a while until it was all on farm then it got boring tbh.
PvP was also extremely RNG and felt pretty unfun imo.
Wrath PvE has been alright but having to do Ulduar for 1000000000000000000 weeks is kinda mind numbing.
PvP is fun but I would have much rather seen a balance patch update for every season based off original content release instead of always having 3.3.5 balancing for classes since it just causes arena to have the same meta over and over but this was the same case for TBC so idk.
I think both xpacs were ‘good’ in their own ways and I much do prefer Wotlk over TBC but in this day and age everything is figured out and everyone min maxes like crazy since it’s much easier to do with logs and guides ect, so many top players stream and have guides plus bis lists were as back in the day these things were much rare and the game felt ‘new’ compared to just the feeling of already had played the xpac many times.
Original Wrath was the best. Liked it way more than I did TBC first time around. But this time I liked TBC better. This version of Wrath was butchered by Blizzard.

tbc. at the end of the day i don’t like really the combat direction when i do dungeons in wrath.
it’s getting to sweat mode lite aka retail play.
it’s manageable in wrath tho i stopped doing dungeons in retail it’s so bad there man lol

Well this is an issue with wrath classic because blizzard shoved watered down M+ into it, it wasn’t an issue originally.

TBC has really good raids and dungeons all around but I just can’t like class designs of most classes at least wotlk has decent rotations for most.
I think the amount of bugs/changes in wotlk and the class design only using the last patch has made wotlk Classic way worse than it should be, there was just too much heavy changes and nerf during ICC.
Wotlk also has way less need for magic resist gear and the magic res gear we got is way easier to get which I hated in Tbc so that’s a win for wotlk on that part.
As far as I’m concerned Wotlk is still a better expansion because I prio class design a lot and Tbc one just can’t hold up. Wotlk is one of those expansions where I wanted more of it and I think that’s what make good expansions. I also think raid logging is a good thing for the game, I think you could easily raid log in TBC but consumables and crafted gear were much harder to get if I remember.
