I’m just discussing a fantasy world where there would be more freed up resources because part of the WoW yearly budget isn’t going into releasing a game from 2006. It may be completely unrelated but I can’t help but wonder.
What?
Maybe retail takes resources away from classic.
Well I don’t think classic and TBC take away from retail. They are already completed expansions that probably require little upkeep. They don’t even have to develop anything for them.
Just an FYI… resources were never split between the two games. WoW hired additional people to work on Classic.
I don’t speak to anyone in BCC
I don’t die in BCC (leveling as Prot pally )
Quite and I look forward to flying when I make it to outlands lol
Those who share that opinion are free to stay in BCC I shall visit them and tank dungeons for them lol
Classic TBC is the reason 9.1 isn’t out yet. No company in their right mind would release both at the same time.
Haha true, I mean that’s completely possible, and TBC is bigger than SL now.
Why would they do that
As if classic player would touch retail if they released at the same time lol
And that’s another thing that drives me crazy. They obviously can’t release both at the same time so Retail gets delayed. They would be in direct competition with themselves.
You poll them?
I would imagine classic brings in more money than it consumes since so little work goes into it because it’s a game from 2006
Maybe we’re getting to the heart of the issue here - money. Good point.
He’s the current ambassador for every classic player & knows every single player’s opinion.
9.1 has been ready for awhile dude but if they released tbc and 9.1 close to each other the playerbase would of had a fit. Cause despite what you read TBC players main retail.
I’m pretty sure retail is the one that forced Classic to release around it.
A normal patch PTR last 8-10 weeks. We wouldn’t expect 9.1 until late June anyways at best.
BC actually got flak for releasing early with little warning. I think Classic was the one who had to make a choice to avoid 9.1. Do it early now or wait until July/August or later.
I hope they cut it off at TBC. Although Wrath being what it is I can definitely see them releasing yet another Classic expansion. Probably in the middle of a new Retail expansion and history will repeat.
They can’t keep adding new races every expansion, then we end up with 100 generic boring races rather then a few good quality races.
It doesn’t matter what influenced the other. We’re seeing the effects on the CURRENT game of re-releasing old content.
You’re right, but what they said is still somewhat true, new classes + races are a pretty big draw to an xpac.
Imagine how many people would buy 10.0 if Blizz announced playable murlocs, JUST for murlocs alone people would pay that $40
Races, even classes, abilities, you can’t keep pumping them out. The bloat is unsustainable. The heart of WoW is the pve content. Make new exciting interesting content, with meaningful rewards, ie higher ilvl gear and the rest will take care of itself. There’s more than enough choices out there to tackle that new content with.
