Full server copy is the only way I see around this.
it would be highly punitive of blizzard to force everyone who wants to play TBC to start over. I will not play if this is the case. I do not care if me leveling to 70 through dungeons with naxx gear bothers anyone.
I’d roll new simply because i only have this druid right now, and i kind of like him where he is and there are lots of classic things i still want to do.
TBC i would like to recreate my fury warrior that i played in vanilla and TBC
Wrath, i would probably tank on a DK as i had a lot of fun doing that in wrath originally.
“People will clear the raid content too quickly, so lets make leveling far longer”
This is so dumb.
Vanilla raids are easy too.
Shall we increase the time it takes for them to get to 60 also?
I just do not foresee that happening.
Not sure i would even want that.
Toon transfer, for those who want to transfer 1 toon per account, cool.
Other than that, i think it would be better to let the realms start with a fresh economy and build it up themselves.
Aw come on, it would be fun, pick a class/race you have not played yet.
Do not see why naxx gear would be an issue for anyone but a compulsive whiner, people having naxx gear would be very authentic to TBC, though by 70 you will probably already have shed some of it, there is some good stuff you can start getting around level 65 or 68
Oh yeah, and options! 3 viable talent trees for tanking.
I’m still undecided as to which class I would like to main in BC, but it’s likely a toss up between Paladin, Warrior and Druid.
I won’t argue with you, but I don’t think completely new servers are a super-popular idea.
i already plan to do that by leveling and raiding with a shaman after my priest is 70.
I’ll have more than 2 60’s by the time BC is released. I’ll probably quit if I have to leave most of them behind. I doubt that blizz would be so stupid as to not just have normal progression into BC as was done years ago. With some option for those who only want classic to stay behind.
I dont understand this foolishness at all.
How on earth do you think its exploitable?
If the transfer service is so exploitable, why doesnt it happen on retail?
I said copies, not transfers, are exploitable.
And why? Lol maybe read what I said instead of having an aneurysm. I explained exactly why copies are exploitable.
Entire server copies aren’t exploitable.
Yeah, they could do it that way, but character copy definitely isn’t happening. There’s a reason they have never done character copy for anything that isn’t a test server.
Yeah, and then they could also open up some brand new TBC servers to give players a choice to start fresh and develop new communities, economies, etc.
It’s not foolishness…
Pay attention. He said character copy is exploitable and THAT IS WHY there will be transfers, not copies.
If they did copies anyone could just copy their character, send their gold to their other character or friend’s character, where they could do the same thing. Endless gold and items. It would ruin the server economies immediately.
One way transfers are the way to go. There absolutely needs to be more awareness about why there won’t be copies because people are going to ask for that over transfers.
No. Copies are not happening. Copies no, transfers yes.
I think it would be cool to even open up a few TBC servers like a month early lets say (Could be more or less doesn’t really matter to me) so some people interested in starting fresh could without being super far behind by the time the rest of us start.
Either way I just want to keep my characters I’ve leveled and put time into now. I would probably quit tomorrow if they said they were doing fresh. The idea of everything I’m doing here would be wiped if I left would be a hard pass.
Transfers would destroy Classic server communities. What if people want to go back and they can’t? What about people like me who want to progress into TBC but also want to continue playing Classic?
Full server clones IMO (Grob-Classic and Grob-Classic TBC) would be the way to go + open up brand new TBC servers.
You could do what i will most likely do?
I will make something different for BC and keep my druid in classic
Cloning is an option, and not an inherently bad one, but there is something to be said for having some aspects, like the economy starting fresh.
Plus me myself, i dont think i would want 2 of me.
I would probably sell out the TBC me and transfer the funds to a new TBC toon to get him started.
You may think that sounds sucky, but before classic i had not played WOW in a long time, and i never played a caster or a druid before, so i needed to level up from 1 to learn to play this toon.
I have not played a fury warrior since cata released, i have forgotten how, so leveling 1 to 58 or 60 will let me relearn that so i am not standing in outlands like a scrub.
I mean, for me personally, I love leveling alts, so this wouldn’t really impact me too much. I have several priests and other characters lol. But I know many people and close friends of mine who wouldn’t want to lose out on the progress they’ve made on their characters to lose their PvP titles, gear etc and would want to carry that forward into TBC but also have that version in Classic to keep playing. The full server clone would resolve that.
Well, PVP titles and gear from classic become pretty much meaningless in TBC
Different PVP world there.
This PVP gear would be trash kind of, for PVP, and being king of the hill there is fought and determined in the arenas.
Doing just BG’s alone, you hit a brick wall fairly quick on advancement.
