TBC is on the table!

Yeah i am excited about Classic, but if there were TBC servers I would live there forever

Or possibly brushing off the idea of “more content for Classic” and only addressing the one that might actually happen.

How exciting it will be! Getting to render 60 levels of content irrelevent, so that players can move on to 10 levels of meh!

Don’t worry, it won’t be anytime within the next 3 years. Probably more 4-6.

The phases in classic are going to be rolled out slowly. IT’s all about keeping people subscribed. IF they move through phases too fast, people will play, then quit. They need to give players time to do stuff and a reason to come back.

This isn’t new news. They’ve said this many times in the past.

TBC has been on the table for most of the development of Classic when they’ve said, multiple times, that it was something they’d consider if Classic does well.

this right here makes me happy,
they get it.

both perspectives

TBC and Wrath without LFG. Anything after really would be a pointless exercise because that’s when the ‘Classic’ era moved into the modern.

The game still had slow levelling and server communities. TBC and the first half of Wrath were more refinements of the original mould, whereas Cata was revolutionary.

Burning Crusade is when I played the game the most. I loved raiding as a resto druid. I wouldn’t mind revisiting it, some day in the future, like in 5-8 years maybe.

And, hopefully, both types of servers.

they are implying that i believe

I envy your optimism.

No sarcasm. I really would be thrilled if they released (separate, of course) WotLK servers without that damn dungeon queue, and I really do think it’s about as likely as it raining donuts tomorrow.

I know that none would share my opinion at all, but I think it would be amazing and unprecedented if they kept doing vertical progression in the vanilla world. There was so much potential for more in Azeroth that I never felt was capitalized upon. They kept introducing new continents, new worlds, destroying the old world, but they never thought to keep developing the existing continents, the existing races, all the characters… I just felt there was so much potential that they kind of threw away. By the time of BfA, Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms are just dead.

In fact, I am excited for Classic just to see where it goes. I would be disappointed if they released TBC. Sure, I had some fun moments there, but it was definitely a totally different game from Classic.

TBC shouldnt be an addon to current Classic realms, they should be their own realm with TBC content you need to start at level 1 on.

The only issue with that is that Naxx geared players already completely shred everything around them. A hypothetical tier 4 geared Classic character would probably make things explode by just glancing at them. PvP is already borderline unplayable when Naxx comes around, so I dread to think what it would be like with tier 4.

The main issue with that is, rather, who would make this “vertical progression?” If it’s people who think BFA is an improvement on the original game (like, everyone in charge there now), then why wouldn’t it resemble BFA much more than anything else?

I quit playing last time when TBC came out, and I will probably do it again. TBC just doesn’t hold any magic for me. The whole space sphere just doesn’t feel the same. I would rather them see them create Classic+ content, but no matter which way they go, it won’t please everyone.

I’m quitting retail and Classic for a BC server. Bring it on!

I don’t really care about gear personally. I’m talking more about events, story, movement of people, things I can’t even think of. I used to be blown away by this game and this company.

I used to imagine that at the end game I would participate in large scale PVP. I envisioned that we would be defending Ironforge or Stormwind from a massive invasion. I thought I would be riding on a horse with a banner and fighting the Horde in Elywnn Forest.

There’s things that never happened that I wish did.

Another interesting post about possible TBC realms in the AMA.

The guiding principle for WoW Classic was staying faithful to the original game.
It’s less clear what our direction should be with BC and WotLK. As you point out, it is likely that some features of these expansions will not be universally embraced by the Classic community

So maybe we could see a TBC - flying? Or a Wrath - LFG?
