It is, thats how blizzard usually does things after a expan, Minus losing your stuff, but if people are gonna cry about duping and items than just strip it all idc about Thunderfury its pointless in tbc anyways, I wanna play tbc not re level 1 to 60 than to 70.
Exactly this. A one way transfer would likely kill the Classic endgame. Let players copy their characters to TBC servers so they can freely play on either Classic or TBC whenever they want, or start fresh. And OP, you do realize players got to keep their current characters when TBC came out originally right? It worked out okay. Donât overthink this.
Eh, not really people who wanna play classic stay on classic people who wanna play tbc transfer to tbc.
Lol. You think you can speak for everyone on that? That no one will still want to do Classic when TBC comes out? Because Classic servers will be a ghost town for at least the first few weeks. Itâs better if people are able to go back and raid MC/BWL/etc after moving to TBC. At least then the people who do want to stay on Classic can still find groups.
I donât care who im speaking for blizzard will make it happen. The company would rather have 1 set of servers than 2 unless both are making them money. So either way its bound to happen
Well there is the extremely high chance that they will have reason to merge classic servers anyways in the future as active population is split between TBC/whatever other expansions they decide to do (prolly at least Wrath). At least that way they can cut costs while preserving the ability to experience the older state of the game and end game content.
They will why would they run 20 servers? when they can make 10 and squish people on them? Saves money with the same amount of subs Lol. Weâre talking about blizzard here
Right⌠thatâs why I am saying there is no realistic reason to make it a one way transfer. If they play it smart, they can continue to keep the amount of servers running historic versions to a minimum while having them all available as well. Remember that this is functionally a selling point of the gameâs subscription. How many mmoâs out there let you experience the game in an older state? Only one Iâm aware of is RuneScape.
Well to your same question what MMO has been as successful as wow and has been going on for 15 years? I canât find any
Right. But as a business thatâs been more successful than any others, you want to press that advantage as much as you can to bury the competition and win over their players as well.
Well with current content they definitely aint winning anyone over⌠lol I think the greatest thing theyve done in the last 5 years was classic⌠even than classic runs out at 1 point
Which is why they need to place some priority on this. Which they appear to be doing. They have seen success with bringing back Classic.
Itâs hard because retail has progressed so far, into a state im not sure is fixable, and classic while very good also has a lot of the original wow players or private servers players. They would have to make a new game or completely change retail for the entire community to get together.
They will most likely go with the end state of TBC, which is the last patch of how the game was. They arenât going to applying the patches as they were progressively.
Doing that would be such a let down to most people as there would be no Attunment chart to complete. As well as all the bosses nerfed in the post BT launch.
I think that would be a let down for people if they go with this and pull less people than it could. I know i would be far less interested in the content. Not only that it would be run though FAR faster so we might only get a year of TBC before being shipped off to wrath. Which would get similar treatment though it would take more work cause of badges.
Or character copy with no boes, consumes, and 50g max.
They want to kill classic OP
Iâm fine with that. Honestly the only reason I want to stay on classic is because the classic leveling is better in classic than TBC (they removed elite quests).
I donât think we should be forced into fresh servers for TBC. I do think having a few servers set aside for that would be good though.
Example make 2 fresh, pve 2 fresh pvp, and one fresh RP server. Then progress the other servers to TBC but keep a classic only copy of the servers for classic servers. After 3 months or so of monitoring classic server population merge them as needed (a full merge, not what retail does).
And there, everyone is happy.
I have been farming to be able to afford basic flying for my characters for months now. This proposal being used would piss A LOT of players who are planning ahead off.
50g would be way to low. 1000g per character would be much more reasonable as it letâs people keep a decent chunk of what they may have farmed without it being overly exploiting in bringing huge chunks of gold over. Also, Iâm making a JC 1-300 kit, so items themselves should not be stopped from transfer unless itâs a big ticket items like black lotus or flasks (any consumable item currently worth over 100g per in the AH)
And donât think Iâm trying to be greedy, Iâm at 1600g between all my characters, I want 2k for their basic flying and I can live with farming the rest of the gold in TBC.
