This is the one question I want answered more than anything. A very simple yes or no would more than suffice. Obviously if the answer is no I would be disappointed but I would rather be disappointed now than be disappointed later when we are slapped with no TBC era.

Exactly my sentiments. I’m not going to roll fresh untill I know if we’re going to stay in TBC or not.

Since the vanilla phases are being crammed in a year, would they also cram TBC phases as well?

And then Wrath in 2027…

And then Cata in 2028…

Panda in 29

Where are we going with this?

Hopefully it stops at wrath and repeats the trilogy in 3 or so years. Once you get into CATA it begins to resemble retail.

I have a feeling they are going to run this version through all the xpacs, just like the current ‘classic’. Probably start a new Fresh when this version hits Cata. Rinse and repeat.

You’re probably pretty close. Late 2029 they open Fresh servers and start another round.

Same. I thought I’d at least hit the fresh servers to make characters until we got an answer, but the more I think about it the less I see the point. My personal preference would be Wrath era (I dig achievements), BC would be great too, but beyond Wrath I don’t want to bother wasting my time.

Everyone has their preferred stopping point, we all know we might not get ours, and we’ll be okay if these fresh servers aren’t for us. We just want to know.

Blizz, I know you guys are busy. My time is valuable too. Make a plan and share it, please.

Knowing Blizzard, we won’t get the answer until the realms have been up for a while and people that were on the fence waiting to find out end up subbing out of fear. That way they can keep bleeding us dry and stringing people along.

Maybe foolish on my part, but I see reason to hope this isn’t the case. Redundant progression servers that are a few years behind the current progression servers, Russian-doll style forever seems like a silly idea.

Then again, they make silly choices.

Which is why we need a definitive answer.

Edit: I also think the goofy “Classic Classic” title implies a focus on the old world before Deathwing broke it like the butt he is.

Wrath resembles retail. Vanilla and BC are the true classic era. BC is just vanilla on a different continent with flying.

I’m in the same boat as you in regards to Wrath. I enjoy achievements. I also enjoy the ease of soloing old content (specifically raids) that Wrath afforded me. If I had one complaint about Wrath it would be that the level 60 version of Naxxramas is removed. I’ve stated this so many times I sound like a broken record at this point and I realize that this is a very unpopular opinion, but I would love it if they could preserve that version of Naxxramas and allow you toggle between that version and the Wrath version in the same way you could Onyxia in Wrath classic. Still, Wrath is my favorite expansion (well, out of it and TBC at least since I have never played Cataclysm and beyond and never intend to) though I could be happy stopping at TBC as well if they were to give us a TBC era server and progress further.

you guys live way too much in the future dont you think

I don’t, because I think the people asking this question aren’t actually interested in (yet another) vanilla. So it’s not like we could be enjoying the journey of fresh vanilla (again) for now. We only want BC or Wrath era, but are willing to use fresh vanilla as a means to that if that’s the compromise option. Which only works if it is, in fact, an option.

but he already knows tbc will be around

This doesn’t seem to be what was stated. I’m also curious whether there is a plan or not, and what is intended to happen.

This is an interesting take. I would think that if I cared about TBC specifically, I would still want to play, regardless of whether it progresses or not. I still might, though I don’t think I would raid this time around. Maybe focus on an arena team if that’s something that people are doing, or just simply go play Retail (I’m talking about myself here, not telling others to). I think Classic Era/Retail are looking more and more like the versions of the game I’ll personally stick to.

:woman_shrugging:

they probably don’t know yet dude :expressionless: it all depends on how popular TBC is whether or not they turn it into era. (and I suspect it won’t be popular enough btw)

i hated wrath. i just need to know where tbc is gonna fall from here.

why can’t you just enjoy TBC for 1 year? :expressionless: I mean, if TBC is so amazing, then surely that will be an enjoyable experience.
