We both say, “I want.” I want what’s best for me and don’t care if other people get something different. You want everybody to only get what you want.
Case closed guys. There’s no point in arguing against hypocrisy and selfishness. I think we all know that there’s a very good chance that we’ll be able to continue our characters and keep all of our gold and rewards. The people who don’t agree or want that can either not play tbc or play on the fresh tbc realms if there are any.
No. But it was coming from Vanilla to TBC.
Not Classic (a museum piece) to a game that doesn’t exist yet.
Wow. Please don’t run for public offices.
Plus, if you’re that attached to a pixels in a video game you might consider re-evaluating what your priorities are.
There is one correct solution for BC: Classic and the basic idea is it should function essentially the same as going from vanilla to BC originally with the exception that you’ll have the option to keep your characters in vanilla land should you wish to do so.
There are a few ways of accomplishing this. One is to just straight up copy every single Classic server to a BC version while leaving the originals intact on BC launch day. IMO this would be the simplest and most effective. The only issue would be copying dead servers and carrying over faction imbalance. But there’s no guarantee that would improve anyways and could actually worsen should they take a different route.
Best thing about this solution is it is the most authentic and seamless transition you could ask for. Auctions, mail, guilds and friends lists could all transfer over. Nothing would skip a beat.
Nah, you dont get to steal the economy they made, and the community they made etc.
They were on the realm 1st, they built it, they established it, no need to deport them unless one is having a bout of entitlement or something.
Who exactly is “they?” We all made it. I had my part in making it and I intend to move on to BC. We who intend to move on have as much of a right to take the economy we made and the community we made with us as those who decide to stay behind.
I’ve never understood people who want to make some connection to their bizarre political philosophy and a game.
It wasn’t a literal statement.
Was this necessary to explain?
Key words there
Move on, on to different things, on to new adventures.
Moving on does not entail evicting anyone who is not moving on.
Non sequiter. What ever was created belongs equally to those who created it, whether they move on or stay behind.
Again, who is “you” and who is “they?” We all made it together. Moving on also doesn’t not entail relinguishing what we created. It is ours as much as yours.
If you move and leave the neighborhood to move uptown
you pack your stuff and go.
You dont take the corner bank, and the deli and the drug store with you.
and you dont evict the neighborhood and toss you uptown condo down in it.
You move and set up shop new, and the rest of the old neighborhood continues on as it always has.
No changes
No changes

leave the neighborhood
[/quote]Don’t be silly, no one is leaving the neighborhood. it’s still Orgrimmer and Stormwind. There’s just a new development added for some of us. Server mergers will happen, mostly on which ever version has the lower population.
If 90% of my guild plays BC who gets the community we made? Do we take it with us or is it yours?
Again, who is “you” and who is “they?”
You go forth, and create a new one.
I wont be transferring, i will roll new from lev 1, so i will be starting from 0
And my vanilla toon will remain to play with vanilla friends and guildies
I hope more people get a survey later on. Personally, I like the idea of upgrading to TBC in a similar way we did the first time
Why do people keep saying this nonsense?
Remember when TBC came around and Blizz took away everything you’d done in Vanilla? Me neither, because they weren’t complete idiots and realized that would completely kill the game.
Every time someone comes here asking for bad changes I honestly get the feeling they want classic to fail, because there’s no other explanation for it.
I have no problem with that- have separate fresh realms for those that really want them. For those that want an authentic TBC experience though, have us move our classic characters to TBC.
Like seriously, why has all this change nonsense contaminated the game?
Is it really so hard to just want what we got back then? It’s like saying you want a vintage 1940s car, but only if someone’s taken a sledge hammer to it for an hour first.
I will never say Vanilla, TBC or WotLK were perfect games, or that they couldn’t have been improved upon. But it’s abundantly clear that while they might have been able to be improved upon- both current Blizzard and this current community are the last people on the planet that could figure out how to do it.
Well, you know, we’re talking less than a decade after the Great Depression, so for a really authentic experience you want a beater.
