Targeted Corruptions and Faster Cloak Empowerment

Thanks for trying.

I am genuinely confused as to who this is for, why it’s being done, and what it hopes to accomplish.

It’s nice that there are players that are excited for this change. However, it’s just too little too late for myself. Of course I’m going to utilize it, but it’s not going to impact my game play. Since I can’t cleanse crappy corruptions and put on what I want /shrug. Also echoing the additional RNG layer… just, why?

Thanks for continuing to try and improve the end of expansion drought.

Okay but what does this really solve for new 120s? I just hit 120 yesterday on an alt, I need, bare minimum, 4 essences - so now I’ll still have to farm the same amount of echoes, and until I finish farming echoes for essences I can’t spend them on additional visions to catch my cloak up, and until my cloak is caught up I can’t spend them on corruptions. It honestly helps very very little when you consider the massive amounts of catch up required for a fresh 120.

This could be alleviated by not increasing the cost of essences by a factor of 5.

This. My main doesn’t have ANY AT ALL of the recommended corruptions for her spec… Only a lot of “I guess that will do for now” and “keep trying!

I would love to know if the horrific vision vessels can still be bought with coalescing visions or do I have to go make room in my bags NOW for the several dozen I can buy on various characters so that I don’t have to buy them with echoes later…??

If you read the OP, the earning rates have been multiplied to make catching up quicker. So complaining about an alt having something that took days then, but a few hours now, is missing the point entirely.

Echoes haven’t really been up that long, just how many do you think you’ve missed out on?

Yes but the cost of things like essences also increased so this isn’t much of a catch up for new 120s like they claim.

Everything is priced up by the same factor. There is literally no catchup mechanic to it.

A lot. Considering some people are sitting at 24k+ and even 40k+ ranges, that’s quite a lot I’m missing.

So alts that didn’t feel the need to collect all rank 3 essences now get a head start over mains? Monkey company.

You need to be more specific on the date if you’re also suggesting people go buy essences before it hits. Is it going live in a few hours? ~7 days? ~14 days?

Don’t mess this up blizz… you’re giving us corruption choices fine, don’t nerf anything don’t touch anything just give us the corruption, and plenty of currency to play with and walk away… let us have fun in this game for once.

that would be to OP…but we can give mages Masterful no problem!

I have friends that are 20k+ for echoes cause they cba to purchase essence (since they had the equivalent essence for main spec). Easy TD3 or maybe even gushing wound day one.

My mage is level 15 cloak, and completed a decent amount of visions and assaults. I am at 0 echoes. Why wouldn’t you just make a new currency so that 1 toon players aren’t disadvantaged?

So, what about the characters that completed the neck grind, have all rank 3 essences and blocked from earning the Echos currency.

Compared to everyone else who didn’t finish the neck grind and continued to hoard this currency who can buy the corruption they need.

Seems a bit unfair to have to start from zero or not at all because someone completed a goal set by the devs. One toon players exist, and shouldn’t be punished for it.

will enchanting a BOE witha corruption effect cause it to become soul bound? or can we still sell the BOE with the corruption??

It says the corruption will cycle though twice a week. So gushing wounds will appear at some point

I know people w/ multiple alts w/ 30-40K+ echoes.

I really don’t want to lose all the echoes I earned because others don’t have any.

I’m not sure this was thought through well enough. The new purchasable corruptions have to be able to be applied to already corrupted items (overwrite) or cleansed, which you’re looking into if it can be done. But it needs to be able to be done.

Most sources of a regular player’s guaranteed highest item level gear comes from sources that always corrupt if it can. M+ cache, PvP Cache and Horrific visions. If you cannot place corruptions on these already-corrupted slots, then players are pretty much forced to apply corruptions on lower ilvl gear which will feel sub-optimal.

Short of hoping for a mythic-raid drop that doesn’t corrupt, this system will always force a player to place corruptions on gear they don’t truly want to corrupt.
