I am testing out arcane blast on the dummies.
I have full PvP gear on, and warmode enabled. I understand that PvP modifiers DO NOT take effect until you hit a player.
Sitting at 4 stacks arcane charges:
Standard PvE hit:
13:00:59> [Your] [Arcane Blast] hit [PvP Training Dummy] 329,504 Arcane.
Matching to tool-tip for PvE.
Hitting a Target Dummy:
13:02:01> [Your] [Arcane Blast] hit [PvP Training Dummy] 408,268 Arcane.
Tool-tip says about 605k. Not even close.
Is anyone else’s abilities matching their tool-tip?
Yes, it is bugged and has been for quite a while.
For example, when I do storm keeper which normally increases lightning bolt dmg by 140% in pve, but 40% in pvp; the tooltip changes yet I can sometimes crit for 3 mil on the pvp dummy. Most I can get in actual pvp combat is about 1.4 mil.
When it comes to slam for warriors, there are a bunch of modifiers for pvp increasing the damage and the tooltip will say a large amount, but will hit for very little against the pvp target dummy because it’s using the normal pve damage.
I don’t know if every skill that has a pvp modifier is like this, but I know for a fact that some skills don’t apply the pvp buffs/nerfs. It looks like arcane blast is another one of those abilities.
As a side note - Primordial wave says that the pvp dummy is an invalid target and you can’t even cast it on pvp dummy in dragonflight zones or the new zone. Only way I can use it is if I go to the pvp dummy in orgrimmar. It has been like this ever since dragonflight came out.
