Why are tanks chain pulling this early? Its every dungeon… I mean players are still mostly around 335-340 ilvl…after the 2nd or 3rd chain pull relax bro, let your healer get to about 75 percent mana… takes about 5 seconds.
They will stop when they start dying.
I dont’ chain pull anything unless I got giga Aoe chads like Hunter/Mage doing 30k+ dps.
As Tank I mostly focus on the Healer though and not the Dps so if they get anxious and bite off more than they can chew I’m gonna let them eat dirt.
Because the content is easy enough that they can, and they maybe want to set the pace and/or they believe in you.
If you need a 5 second break every couple of pulls, that’s a pretty unique-to-you thing, and something that I’m sure most any tank would be quite willing to accommodate if you simply, let them know.
As a tank I chain pull and there is no reason not to.
When the healers mana gets to 30-40 percent based on the consumption over the last pulls I stop for 5 secs of droped combat if the healer is not drinking we pull again. If you start drinking we pull with a 50 percent dr cd running so you can drink while we are fighting. Many healers won’t drink as they plan there mana cds out to not need to drink. It’s already at the point most healers I have seen in the last 2 days don’t need to mana up till the boss
Only the “bad” healers that are just as geared as the others but are spam healing me with low effectiveness healz like this is wrath tend to oom
As for stopping or waiting for 75 percent mana, no. No one will do that as that makes no sense. You should not be using more than 30-40 percent of your mana in a given pull if you are you really need to get better at your class every helaing class I have ran with and every one was able to do pulls with that mana esp when you don’t need to heal tanks much now days. While at 75 percent mana if you stop most healers won’t even drink. While once you start drinking you can keep drinking while we are fighting. You only need enough time to click your drink.
the correct answer is if ur the healer you should let them die if they’re chain pulling, it will force them to stop or leave group for a different tank who pulls the right way
This is why as a healer if i need to drink, i play a little ahead of the tank provided i am not in range to pull the next pack. So when I’m out of combat i immediately start drinking and get enough ticks in before the tank pulls the next mob.
I just chill when I see blue bar go under half, then I go again.
It’s entirely fine.
Hopefully the 20 tanks you’ve grouped with read this post!
Good tanks know the proper pace for their current group. If the DPS is high and heals are flowing chain pulling is completely fine. If DPS is low heals will get taxed and need more breaks. It’s simple really, and the good tanks know how to do it right.
Good lord. It’s because it’s easy enough to do. What in the world are you guys so afraid of? Take the training wheels off guys. Learn your class/role. This content is 13 years old. It is 2024. We have access to a plethora of information. We have addons that literally tell you what buttons to press.
Yea, this is partially a problem coming from Wrath where the heroics did 0 damage (from what I heard). I’ve seen dps just getting chunked by making errors in dungeons and healer is gonna oom healing everybody back up.
Had a healer complained I pulled a boss while he was at 75% mana, and he left the group after he got one shot by the worm in Blackrock Caverns.
As a healer try to maximize your spirit, get small drinks when you can, I personally have a shield that gives me 450 mana a second until that shield pops so I’ll use it on myself when the trinks up and stay away from damage and you basically never need to fully sit besides maybe for bosses
yep, that. Its the healers job to keep the lil berserker on the chain. When I m drinking or the tank ignores me I just make sure I camp outside aggro range so when he dies screaming like a lil female dog I can calmly walk up and rezz him last.
Votekick me? sure, go ahead. Or you know…pace yourself and we all can have fun together
LOL, thats a nice thought. Complete pipedream but yeah, keep it positive
My assumption is that other players are expert level. The amount of time that I imagine an average max-level player to have spent playing WoW is enough to be considered an expert in a professional field.
Let them pull? If we die… we die.
Yeah and then the healer needs to dump all the mana they just recovered because the group is fighting already. Wash and repeat. It doesn’t make the dungeon go faster.
Chiming in as a Disc priest…
- I am Smite healing so I manage my mana very well, however, what irritates me to no end is when ranged dps stands at max range and is angry that I’m not hard healing them. I completely understand that Disc healing has changed and many people don’t realize that my smite heals won’t reach you, but after I tell you that Smite heals only has a 15 yard reach, andI don’t have the mana regen to hard heal you, and you refuse to adapt and (or) belly ache at me because you have to “stand on top of the fight” or in the case of hunters who, “can’t fight from less than 15 yards”, please know that I don’t want to hear your complaints! I’m doing my part and I wish that others would as well. Find your proper placement or die to lack of heals. It’s that simple.
If I take the time to explain to you how to catch heals from Disc, and you continue to out range heals, I will refuse to waste more than 6300 mana on you, which is one bubble. Rather than threatening me with a kick for not healing, it’s easier to play as part of a team than to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a replacement who will be conserving their mana just as I will.
- IMO any tank who runs away from the group to chain pull with a Disc priest as their healer deserves to die. The functions of Disc healing don’t change just because you are a tank. I will penance you to get you buffed with Grace. My Smite heals is what keeps your health up. If I am running, I can’t Smite. Again, I don’t have the mana regen to hard heal you.
Thanks
I’m leveling a fire mage and I also want tanks to slow down so I can freaking take a drink
