Tanks shouldn't have the final say on pulls

I mean why are dps in such a rush? So they can blaze through content and wait 20min at minimum to join the next dungeon?

DPS need to quit thinking big numbers are the best thing ever because… like no one cares. When I’m tanking or healing I don’t give a rat’s behind who is top DPS as long as we’re making time and doing mechanics. Some folks think they can substitute experience with big numbers and it’s not the case. You do no DPS dead.

Also very good point!

I sw we start a #tanksfirst or #Wepullorwedontque hashtag movement here in the forums, and get every tank to just not que. See how fast people like OP cry

Stick to questing then, the tank is at the head for a good reason. Even if the tank is new, that’s more reason to take it slow & let them learn their role or pull in small numbers.

Pulling packs that a tank is clearly not ready to handle won’t help him to learn and this ragey inducing mentality of Top DPS so I can pull is so toxic. You want Solo content, stick to that

Common complaints: “our queues are so long, why no tanks?”
Simultaneously: “if you’re a slow tank, I’ll pull for you! Who cares if you’re possibly learning to tank and now got discouraged and is one less tank in the queue pool”:joy:

Everyone is replaceable, but we still need;
Tanks to take the damage.
DPS to beat the enrage timers that tanks can’t get past alone.
Healers to relieve the distraction of dying for the other party members.

All of our roles are needed, until we out-gear / level the content. =D

I know what you are saying, but big numbers are kinda a big deal. It what determines if a dps is good enough to do a +10 or +20.

Ofc the tank is the one that pulls though.

Mad your troll post got flagged?

It was actually my post.

Nope, just confused why people waste time false flagging posts when they risk getting actioned themselves for misusing the system.

Haven’t seen a bad take like this in a while

Nah, you gotta go at the tank’s pace, sure you can do whatever you want in lower level dungeons, pre 60 and all, but later dungeons contain things that can either CC you or hit you really hard and really fast

And if you decide to pull while the healer is OOM (likely from healing you trying to rush through pulls) you just get yourself killed and slow the group down even more

If you don’t want to be hindered by a tank who may be going slower than you would like, whether or not your request is reasonable, well, you can go quest (Which is often enough a faster way to level anyway)

Best part about this is that a tank loaded with corruptions (and proper corruption resist) can very realistically out-DPS DPS with corruption procs due to most being HP%

I have a simple rule for DPS, you pull it…you tank it.

It doesn’t matter in leveling or heroic dungeons anyways. If the tank wants to be slow, that’s on them. It’s not an organized group or M+. Leveling / Heroic dungeons are on the same level of faceroll so it honestly doesn’t matter. You could do it with 5 dps if you wanted.

Yeah you could with 5 experienced players.

But what if someone is new?

Then they will be carried by the other 4 people.

The tanks job is to hold threat and decide the flow of battle, that means choosing which packs get pulled and when, so he can grab threat and prevent adds from joining in, healer heals, and dps …kill and interrupt and cc, that’s the group dynamic in WoW.
