I can understand if you sometimes need to pull the mobs somewhere else to dodge stuff or some other reason, I get it, it happens.
But there are sometimes I get dungeons where as soon as I put down Blizzard on a mage the tank instantly moves the mobs out of it. Every. Damn. Time. And I even wait a bit for them to get all rounded up together and everything. Nope. Time to immediately move them out of it for some reason.
I can’t take it anymore! I just want to do damage!

It’s all just a conspiracy to make sure you never get to do any damage
I’m incredibly used to having things pulled out of my blizzards. I try not to even cast it unless I’m pretty sure they’re done pulling 3 rooms of an instance.
If you can convince them though to leave stuff in my druids’ solar beams, that would make me so happy.

Yeah that’s why I’m glad all the toons I play are melee so I can take the AoE with the mobs. My warlocks AoE requires set up and by the time I get it done we’ve already moved on.

Oh my god the druid in my party put down a solar beam on my blizzard on a huge pack of mobs and I’m like alright let’s go we got this.
And then the tank immediately moves them out of both.

The secret is to spec into something that adds a massive slow to your AoE. Now it’s the tanks who are being messed with, and you still get to deal your damage. >_>

wait 'til tank stops moving and blizzard where he’s posted up, and maybe a little ahead of where he stopped as he will be dragging, as is the nature of push keys.
Unfortunately this was in a leveling dungeon. And yeah, I did exactly that.
Ultimately didn’t matter, but it was still frustrating that it happened every damn time lol. And I’ve played other AOE placement classes at max level where tanks did the same thing in random heroics, too.
An issue as old as time (in WoW)
Seconded.
Annoying on any caster outside this drood.
Trying to level my Cata Enhance is awful. I need to put my totems on a Little Tike pull along cart.

Given how magical what you said is, I half-expect you to set your staff against the wall, walk off, and vanish like one of those magic guys in movies who teaches someone how to do something better!
thank you zombie warlock
its just bad design by blizzard tbh. they keep on making abilities that go completely contrary to how their playerbase plays. instead of making the way players play easier they seem to be at odds with us. never a good sign.
i will say ret pallys are amazing though. they are 100% always GO and lose zero uptime on the move so they might be the gold standard for class design moving forward. they should be anyway. knowing blizz they will scrap it entirely because its too popular and too fun.

Then it makes your DPS low. I also wait until the mobs are gathered and the group is still, cast AOE and he suddenly runs down a corridor to grab another pack wasting potential DPS. It’s alright though they do that a lot less in mythic plus it was just when I did heroics

I just hate when they look like they’re about to stop, so you pop all your stuff… they wait 2 seconds and then go to grab like 3 more packs of mobs.
Like BRUH, if you were gonna do that you should have done that from the get go, now half my DPS is gone for the pack lol.
This is done to healers, too. For druids & shaman, we constantly see the mobs getting kited out of our healing circle (efflo) or healing rain circle (which also damages the baddies). I always wait for the tank to group the mobs up before placing my healing circle, but wham! Off they go, dragging the baddies as well. One way I know I am with a good tank is if I see them respecting the efforts of me/the dps, keeping the baddies in the circle when possible. Repositioning is one thing, constant movement out of efforts others are making to help is another.
normalize tanks posting MDT route before the start of the key. it’s always fun trying to predict tank behavior for sections where CD usage is dependent on how the packs are pulled
I’d rather we not normalize anything about the MDI lol.
Every time I see someone try to pull some MDI tech the group fails cause the tank isn’t even remotely capable of surviving the pulls.
Was in a +8 NW with 3 DPS doing 2-4million DPS on every pull just a few hours ago, and the tank tried to pull all the trash behind the first boss into the boss w/o saying anything. Dude pulls all the trash behind the boss like normal, we start killing it – then like 6 seconds into the pull he just goes SAILING off into the distance, lands on the boss, and then tries to jump back with the boss punching him in the back. Then he lost aggro on all the trash, two DPS died instantly and then he died. Dude insta-logged off lmao. Dead key.
It looked like the intrusive thoughts won when he jumped over to pull the boss. It was actually hilarious afterwards… but even the 3k IO rogue in the group was like “Wat.” Would have been the easiest NW of our lives if the tank wasn’t trying to look cool or whatever he was doing.
I dunno if that was some kinda MDI strat or whatever, but I definitely don’t wanna normalize those kinda crazy pulls.
Especially not in lower level keystones where those strats aren’t even remotely necessary. Lol.
