Tanks pretty please stop pulling mobs out of our AOEs

MDT bro not MDI. it’s just an addon that lets you plan routes and share the route with others.

Ahh my bad, misread what you wrote.

Last time I used MDT was in Shadowlands. Can you share routes with people in your group on the fly now? That’d probably be a game changer. Used to have to import routes and it was kind of a pain. Would be cool if it just showed you what your tank was planning.

Do you run with a regular tank, or do you pug? I tank for a regular group and I get them to show me what their spells look like so I can learn them. Otherwise there’s too many different ground effects in this game to memorize them all, and our natural tendency is to move out of stuff.

blame blizzard , ground aoes in a TWW WOW makes 0 sense , with so many ground aoes and mechanics that force tanks to move

make aoe move with pack …make it an animated dot , no1 cares

I’ve come to the conclusion tanks cannot do anything correctly. Too fast. Too slow. Not able to survive. Not able to keep others alive. Heal too much. Need too much healing. Don’t know where they are going. Go on routes others aren’t familiar with. Have a God complex because they control the group. Need to control the group. Do too much damage. Don’t let others do damage.

Did I miss anything?

I honestly feel bad when I play my Frost mage. He creates so much graphical clutter that I bet the rest of the group can’t see anything. I wish Blizzard would tone it down a bit.

Honestly another community problem here. People don’t want to talk, they just want to go go go. So many issues with pugs would be solved if people actually communicate, but that’s hard.

How am I supposed to be top damage and the main character if I pull in ways that maximize the DPS of the party?

Just know it doesn’t get better in pugs. Even pugging +12s tanks still pull stuff away from my 7 Frozen Orbs on the ground.

at least elemental shaman gets to target something when using chain lightning

Look, tanks will instinctively and immediately move things out of AoE. There’s so much crap on the screen that tanks can’t tell if the AoE is good or bad and just don’t take chances. That’s how Bliz designed the game, blame them.

finally, someone who know what they are talking about. ive had people complain when i have to drag adds out of their aoe heals or dmg doesnt matter…sometimes it just isnt feasibly. pull them out of the aoe BAD TANK. get smashed because you didnt reposition and get out of aoe…BAAAD TANK. its a lose lose. and then wonder why tanks so moody lol.

I feel ya. But also there’s a reason:

In TWW, some of the random mobs have stupid move away / conals. so even tanks are trying to avoid some of that.

And when you move, especially a larger AOE pack, they tend to want to bunch up behind the tank for small movements. You have to move a good few paces fro them all to bunch up in front of you.

need the mobs in front or you lose the ability to parry.

They usually do it to keep everyone elses damage down because theyre watching that idiot box Details and trying to be top dog.

You can tell if thats what theyre doing if theyre constantly pulling out of your AOE for no reason…like they’ll just move far enough to get the mobs out but theres literally no reason to move it otherwise.

those kinds of tanks clearly have self esteem issues if you ask me. Trying to get an ego boost from something as pathetically meaningless as a video game…instead of working WITH their team to get the run finished.

AKA, why I stopped tanking anything public. Only myself and friends.
