You’re welcome, glad I could help.
Why would you not, if the boss is going to die as you move to the next trash? There’s nothing special about bosses; they take time and they die while you’re moving the same as anything else. Nothing inherently says you must treat them as a significant encounter and change your behavior. The entire dungeon is functionally a singular event, with pacing as defined by your capacity as a group.
The fact that you’re asking the question outlines what you aren’t learning.
You may like it or you may not, but it is a fact that M+ is a speed-oriented activity and thus tanks are going to run all dungeons in a similar fashion. We only have your word to go on and not that of the tanks in your groups, but none of the behaviors you describe are inherently bad sans lack of context regarding group dynamics. Because we only have your word, we lack the context necessary to make informed comment on the situation.
It’s entirely possible that tanks are overpulling compared to your personal abilities, but nothing described is problematic in and of itself; you’re a healer with permanent access to +40% speed, there is no reason you can’t intrinsically keep up with fast tanks.
Again; the fact that you don’t like the answer doesn’t change what the answer is. Random strangers aren’t going to hold your hand and are just as likely to resent you for asking them to. It is what it is.
Are you pretending you made this thread asking for help instead of whinging into the wind? Precisely zero people are going to change their behavior because of your post, and you are essentially pathologizing people having poor situational awareness like most people do.
You’re asking someone who has zoomed with no issues for 99 dungeons to suddenly slow down in the one dungeon they run into you. It just isn’t going to happen.
Blame M+. If we try to go slow, we have people complain. If we go fast, people complain.
/yawn
not gonna lie i need tanks to slow down my self.
its hard to keep up wioth out specing into every piecce of movement i cant get as disc just so my tank wont die
Hinderence is subjective. Dungeons go faster if the tank isn’t engaging the dungeon at warp speed. People should know this or forgotten. If tank takes little time the dungeon is over faster then that when the tank is rushing and wiping 10 times.
To me its more of a hinderence wiping through impatience.
The…absolute…irony…is overpowering…
Elaborate? When I have issues, I look to resolve them.
The issue is your lack of either comprehension or empathy.
All the healers want is the tanks to move slower, so they can properly keep them healed, as healers generally aren’t as mobile as tanks.
Your response was to be a dick and blame them for sucking. And a lot of people disagree with your response. The latter is when most people would go “Oh hey, maybe if that many people say it, they have a point.” Instead you just doubled-down.
The tank has a responsibility to make sure the healer is within range and has mana to keep everyone alive. If the tank runs off alone, let them die and tell him he was out of range. It will humble them down.
Apparently no one read the op’s post and is just commenting on the title. Not asking for smaller pulls, not even asking to slow down this cadence, specifically asked slow down a few seconds so he could catch up.
Hard to believe but some classes are slow and don’t have move move now abilities to stay caught up.
Oh how I wish I was as optimistic as you are.
Blame the DPS who trained us to be like this by constantly pulling ahead of us and expecting us to tank it all.
You are doing fine. Heal as well as you can and the tanks will adjust to your pace as needed. If you announce that you are a new healer they might slow a bit, but they can live solo for quite a while unless they get stun locked or something like that.
My tanking speed is dictated by two factors the DPS of the group and the mana pool of the healer. I see the healer can’t keep up/ runs out of mana I slow the run down so they can. I also tell DPS you try and chain pull like an idiot I’m vote kicking you and you can enjoy the 30 min time out.
Tanks who run ahead, almost die, get other players killed, etc… those aren’t tanks, those are idiots–and there are a few of them in this thread, it would seem.
Yeah I’m sorry blizzard didn’t give my priest glide and double jump and that leap demon hunters do
It’s not perfection, it’s “play for the group you have”
Sometimes you need to slow it down, sometimes you should speed it up.
At this point, if i cant keep up, ill just let them die. Rember it is up to the healer to make that call. If the tank fails to pay attention to the team, its not your fault.
I always turn around if the healer is trailing a bit and give em the good ole stampeding roar. I can’t stand the people attempting mop remix speed. It’s new content and some people are still figuring out spec/hero changes.
Had a tank that decided anything under 4 packs of mobs wasn’t worth stopping for. Healer ripped aggro trying to keep people alive through aoes. I had to peel 4 or 5 mobs off the healer as a boomkin in bear form. It’s been wild.
